is dark/light smoke same as fog free and everclear(for scorpion exo) visors?

what visors do you guys use for regular riding during the day?

Clear at night. Sometimes the yellow ones. I dig the increased contrast. Mirrored during the day, until it gets scratched up and then I just use my clear one all the time. :laughing

Um, wat?

Fog free/everclear is the same thing. It's a coating they apply to the inside of the shield. They can apply it to all Scorpion shields except for mirrored ones, IIRC.

Dark smoke is darker than light smoke. Both can be fog free, or both can not be fog free.

I used either a mirrored or dark smoke shield in the day.

I use an orange/red one. its great, reflects sun during the day and then at nights its like having a clear one, there is no orange contrast. I love it.

I used to use a mirror visor however in the last 4 months I switched to a clear visor and I notice that people around me seem to enjoy the eye contact. It seems to put them at ease knowing that we have made eye contact and I see them. There is something to be said for making that eye contact!

if u're using the mirrored, dark smoke visors, do you guys apply fog free solutions yourselves? or do they not really fog up easily.

I use mirrored, day and night. I got sick of messing with sunglasses during the day and I find the mirrored one cuts enough glare during the day and still allows me to see at night better than the dark smoke. I don't ride much at night though. I have an Arai and it doesn't fog at all.

each brand has their own specific visor right? or are they mostly generic "fit-all" type of thing.

I use a mirrored visor, but it's custom, the mirror is on the INSIDE.

I believe each brand has their own specific visor. Different models by the same manufacturer might have their specific visor. I had an rf-1000 and when i bought my rf-1100 i had to buy a new smoked visor since the locking mechanisms are different.

A dark or mirrored visor will fog up exactly as much as a normal/clear visor. Fogging has nothing to do with the visor tint.
