Retiring next week (yahoo!!) and am chomping at the bit to dive into a moto project that's been staring me in the face for months. With that and being nice to my geezerly bod, I'm looking for a work stand/lift similar to the one in the pic. I'm in Petaluma and willing to drive. Let me know what you've got. Thanks for looking!

What’s your budget ? We’ve been very pleased with our Harbor Freight unit purchased in 2015.
 
Thank you, got my first job slinging newspapers at age 10....never didn't have a job for more than a few months since then, now 70, LUCKILY for the most part, I've been able to make a living doing things I love. But I'm ready to party! ....ok not party, but I'm ready for a lot more ME time! Thanks again and have a great day!
 
Fwiw I also have the harbor freight unit, is a great budget lift
My 2c
It has a Hydraulic foot pump so it doesn't need an air compressor running to lift.
Hydraulics definitely start to leak down so always use the locking bar to keep it at the high or medium height or you will find it back down to ground level at some point.
I've never used the front wheel clamp it came with, I would never trust it. I mostly work on dirt bikes so I have a center jack stand for them, or put bikes on their own center stand, side stand, or a swingarm stand.
I've also never used the removable panel for changing the rear tire.

But for the price, it's pretty good.
When I don't have a Moto on it, I jack it up to the high position and leave it and have an extra storage / work surface.

I recall back in the day most professional shops use the handy lift, which is pneumatic and comes with a robust front wheel clamp But I haven't been in the back room of a shop in years to see what the latest go to is
 
Thanks everyone, it's the iffy front wheel vise that keeps me looking for something different than the HF version. Unfortunately I had a very nice one to use that a friend was storing here so I'm spoiled. I'm a machinist/welder/fabricator kinda guy (albeit, kinda lazy sometimes...) so I may go the HB route and make a front wheel vise that works better. Thanks for the coupon offer, ThumperX, you may be hearing from me. Probably not going to bust a move until Thanksgiving has passed, gotta lot of family landing here next week and won't have much time to dive into my project before then. I appreciate all the input, great moto community here in the bay area!
 
The front wheel vise seems to always be in the way every time I put a bike on a lift. I have removed them from every lift I have, and can’t remember the last time I ever used it.
 
I have had hundreds of different bikes of all styles on my lift for every type of work.

Never wanted for any wheel clamp.

I was looking for a DIY motorcycle lift video. There was one using a Harbor Freight ATV lift, but I grew impatient with all the options.
