We Lost A Great- RIP Andy Sills

:rose
From time to time the passing of a rider I never met bums me out.
This is one of those times.
Ride on Andy.

Another Legend rides on. :roseGodspeed to Andy and may the family have nothing but good memories and painless hearts for an amazing life lived for too short a time.

Wow, condolences to his family!

May the roads be clear and twisty where ever you go Andy!

Seems like a great guy and those pictures with his wife show an amazing couple enjoying life. What a shame. RIP

Does anyone know more about the accident or found the accident report online? Soooo sad. My tears flow for Andy and his wife, Erin.

He looks familiar, but not sure from where. Clearly a wonderful person and someone who will be missed. RIP and condolences to family and friends.

Why yes Andy, we all took a moment to enjoy the spectacular view you chose.

RIP Amazing Human Being

From Hunter Sills Racing on Facebook:

Motorcycling is an extreme sport, and Andy of all people espoused this. For those who may be comforted to know a bit more about what happened to Andy, we want to share that Andy suffered a fatal health issue while riding a straight, clean, dry, beautiful section of CA route 88 near our home in Kirkwood… a road he loved on the BMW GS he loved. He moved on to his next journey while upright aboard the bike. As riders ourselves, we hope that gives you an ounce of comfort from terrible visions that understandably run through our heads.

Godspeed Andy. :rose

Seems like the kind of guy I should have called a friend.
My loss there.

All of you that lost a friend remember you got to share his life.
Papi, friends and family my sincere condolences. I am sorry I missed this and the memorial. :(

It's sad, quite often we learn more about who a person is, after they are gone. In Andy's case there were motorcyclists, skiers, foundry workers, family, and a man I recognized as a friend of my father's.
It was a beautiful service, a beautiful day, and Andy chose a beautiful spot for his final resting place.

On the way to the service I saw a bumper sticker. "THE SKY IS NOT THE LIMIT." I can think of nothing more appropriate than that.

Sail on into the mystic Andy, here's hoping to catch you on the other side.

the smell of morning. there is something in the air. anticipation. it was a restless night - you knew what was coming. familiar. leathers that feel so harsh, stiff and alien until the warmth of your body molds them once again against your skin like so many times before. boots. gloves. zippers and velcro. a ritual of sorts. and finally, pulling the helmet over your head - becoming anonymous behind that shield. a rider on bike. and then it begins...the joy of twisting the throttle.

rest in peace andy. very few live and experience life as fully as you did. my deepest sympathies to your darling wife, your many friends, and all who knew and loved you. carry on ripping it up - up there.

I knew Andy personally--worked with him for about a year and kept in loose touch over the past several. I still have his email and cell on my phone. He gave me one of his old Aerostich suits. He was extreeeemely energetic and a nut about bikes. His stories were incredible. We had a lot of fun talking about motos, and I remember when he met Erin. She's got an amazing riding pedigree herself, and together they are a riding dynamo! I'm a little numb right now, as I just learned of his passing at this moment. I live very close to the cemetery where he is. Will go say goodbye soon.
