I'm thinking wtf? Your not going to live to 120 like me! Babe, statistics show we're probably much closer to the end than the beginning. Time to start living!

I'm thinking I'm fully aware of my self destructive coping mechanisms

I understand their function and dysfunction

I'm thinking I feel like I have earned them
I'm off the rails a bit, but it's on purpose

I'm thinking I am not even sure what I want to get yet but I have my Oregon ID, may as well have some fun with it. I may get a .22 revolver for plinking and then something else that is TBD.

I am thinking I like what you are thinking.

Well. . . then what are the things you regret not having done yet?

I am seventy on my next birthday and listening in on my wife's conversation with her daughter I often still hear: "Let me tell you what he's done now . . . " Sail away from your safe harbor, stop taking prisoners, unload the emotional baggage and take the damn governor off of your engine. Would you rather be squeezed from a tube or shot from a cannon? (Apologies to both Hunter S. Thompson and Mark Twain.)

Past the half way point of your life? Think this way: You can only ever walk half way into the woods before you start coming out again. Keep going, you're almost there.

I think I have very few regrets, just a panic that I need to redirect some expectations.
I think a week of catch up will certainly ease some stress.

still thinking about a certain tired old man. lol that he didn't realize he was screwing himself as much as any of the rest of us (TOTALLY predictable to everyone except him apparently). good riddance.

no party. at least i won't have to make an excuse for not showing up.

Feeling a bit melancholy, my Mom's twin sister died last night. She would have been 94 in 2 weeks. She was quite a woman; self-made, intellectual, worked her way through the male-dominated engineering community of the 1950's to become a top technical writer/editor for Battelle. She worked with GE, General Dynamics, Raytheon, and more. She had 'Secret' & 'Top Secret' clearances from the DoD. She flew planes, she could play the piano, bagpipes, guitar, mandolin & lute. She had no children but was a big part of the lives of her nieces, nephews, and grandnieces & nephews. She was truly sublime. This is hitting Mom kinda hard.

Anyway, I appreciate this space to think out loud and the BARF community that support it.

I think I’ve really done it. I put the NC up for sale.

I am thinking how much less stress I am feeling as I only have 32 hours left at the old job and how excited I am to start the new job in about 3 weeks.....

I'm thinking I am sorry for your loss. You're a neat human and I suspect it has to do with coming from good stock.

I am thinking I will drive to Yreka and vote, damn it.

Few days at the coast with the wife and doggie is just what I needed.

Why was BlaBla digging to China at the beach? Clam sniffing dog.
