What Bike Should Doc Get Next? Suggestions?

Get 2016+ 1200 GS, nice bike, better than older generation. 1250 is fun also but dont get low version , I didnt like suspension on low 1250 GS
I have 890 adv but I am getting 1200 or 1250 GS as well for two up etc

Yes an older 1200 is still in the running. Why 2016+? ‘14s amd ‘15s are the same? Watercooled.

Multistrada Pikes Peak. 2022 and up. Ducati's electronics are second to none...best in the biz IMO. Even in race mode, the bike is super compliant and friendly. Total pussycat of a bike. I was blown away by how competent and composed they are at full bore.

When I get into ADV riding and if I'm not doing much off road (which is likely), that Duc MS Pikes Peak is the one I'm aiming for. Bud knows...that's why he's got his!

Besides the Multistrata, I’ll check out the Pikes Peak too.

Only a hardcore race jockey would call the PP Multi an Adv bike, lol.
Yeah, your hands are higher than your butt, but that thing is an upright race bike to me. Huge hp, 17" front wheel, huge back tire, yadda yadda. Amazing machine, but I guess anything can be an "adventure" bike in the right hands...

Laughing heartily Augustirton!!!

What about the BMW S1000XR as compared to the V4 Pikes Peak?

The XR feels attainable price wise while the PP is more dream bike status

I would agree :laughing

I do think it would do fine on fire roads. Certainly the larger front of the standard V4 Multi with proper tires would make it better.

The upright spr0tbile is EXACTLY why I wanted it. :teeth

Looks to me I’ll need a couple of bikes ;-)
Tourer: 2013-16 1200GS or 1300GS or Ducati V4 multi
Adv bike: KTM 890R or Huski 901 Expedition

Don't forget a Hayabusa for riding the snow on Hwy 35- aim for the dirt, its where the traction is. :afm199 (Did you say that or Steve McCarthy?)

Good problems to have Doc. Life's good.

Mike: haven't ridden a BMW XR, but have heard good things. Good suggestion.

For Adv bike, put the Ducati DesertX on your list. I sold my 790 adv R rally last year and am considering it as a replacement - word from the advrider forums is that a lot of 790/890adv owners are finding the DesertX more in the "fun to ride" camp than the "hardcore big dirtbike" camp, which the 790 adv definitely was. Also, seat height is way high on the KTM/Husky bikes.

I've heard really great things bout the DesertX too...+100 on that.

Hopefully I’ll get to ride the DesertX/890/901 on Tuesday. Then I’ll know.

Just what i need, a Hayabusa ;-) And of course, dirt is where the traction is. :teeth

Well especially When riding in snow.
