What do you think about bikes with carbon fiber fairings?

Although I understand the expensively light greatness of CF, I think vast expanses of the stuff makes the bike look unfinished and cheap. I mean - it's bare fabric, and the edges are usually frayed a bit, or rough. And the seams where the sheets overlay are ghetto.

The RC51 looks good, with all the sticker and stuff, except that the tank's a big sore thumb.

Another problem is if you buy cf parts from different places, sometimes the "weaving" pattern doesn't match. Just doesn't look right so you have to paint the part!

The rr and the RC51 looks sick.If you could paint over the c/f fairing would be excellent like someone said earlier.

Don't see the point of putting carbon fiber fairings on a street bike. At $1500 a set, if you happen to trash it... well you get the picture.

It's neat for sure but still. I can see the gain for racing purposes but that's all (especially carbon gas tank).

I bought a CF tank for my TL1000 a few years back, but it didn't fit! :cry It took months of hassle to get it sent back, and they couldn't get a new mold made, and finally refunded me my money. It was a beauty, though, and so light! Plus it held 2 gallons more than stock.
Oh well.

carbon fibre is horrible, period :hand

I don't like it. Just looks wrong. I can apreciate certain parts of a bike CF, like the Ducati Monster S4R, which has CF tid bits here and there, just to spruce thigns up. These on the other hand, quite FUGLY IMHO (of course). CF is too trendy, too RICE. It's played out, and the fad will be gone soon (HOPE HOPE)

in the description of the item it says "Kit includes: UPPER. LOWERS. TAIL. FULL TANK COVER " so i don't think that it's a CF tank. just a CF cover
