Oh yeah been a known bad thing for ages. even be aware of batteries shipped in your chinesium goods from our favorite chinese websites they can be dangerous.PSA for all ye maker types or anyone who likes to play around with electronics and batteries. All cells are not created equally. Pro tip, don't buy cheap cells.
Dogs absolutely love these things.I made a platform for our (Absolutely, batshit-f-ing crazy) husky so that she can get treats from my neighbor Joyce.
I make some cool stuff at work but cannot share pictures of the parts.BTW, I had to dig through four or so pages to find this thread. Let's keep it going, I know you guys are still makin shit. Post it up!!
I just had to do this, fixing out the pneumatic booster on the drawbar system for our shops Akira Seiki. non-standard 100mm o-ring 6mm thick got some cord stock off mcmaster and glued away. 3-d printed jigs are a great idea for that and would have made my life easier had I seen this earlier. That being said, my shop doesn't have a printer for me to readily whip up jigs.Pretty much all large and/or non-standard size orings are "custom" made, where you buy linear stock and then glue or melt them together depending on the material type. The orange polyurethane is nice because you just use a lighter to melt the ends and stick them together, but the regular buna material is normally glued, which if you ever have to do that, the black max from loctite works well.
Not me, but one of my very good friends is an engineer on the design team for this humanoid robot!
If she's got questions, I can connect her with my friend. He loves to talk about his industry! He got his PhD from MIT's Media Lab biomechatronics group. That's awesome! My daughter was on the robotics team in high school and currently on the team at her university. She's an aerospace engineering major, and probably wants to get into a career field like this.
