Reading through the street crime report for my area (SOMA - SF) I see lots of references to the crime of "Auto Boost/Strip". Is this a carjacking? I have been unable to find a definition using Google or the Barf search feature.

watch "Gone In 60 Seconds" if you can avoid vomiting during its' viewing, you will have tons of street cred regarding boosting a car. :twofinger
 
Oh, so it means breaking into a car and stealing stuff from it? I had thought it meant stealing the whole car...

That makes more sense. Plenty of broken passenger windows round here.

It's crazy that the street right outside the office I work at in SOMA can get 5-6 busted window thefts in a night, you'd walk half a block with tempered glass everywhere. What's crazier is if all you did was park on the other side of the street none of the cars were ever touched.
