Oh yeah, I forgot about Scouts. :laughing

I confuse non-profits with charities. Plus, it's hiking, camping and other outdoor activities. Should be required its so much fun. :laughing

Thank You! My Daughter is a Pediatric Oncology Nurse.

I went to a gala for the charity a couple weeks ago. It is so depressing to hear how little funding/attention pediatric cancer gets.

I have been donating since the charity started so I really hope Unravel goes a long way.

sure. I consider 'donate' to mean something I didn't have to do that I must make some sort of sacrifice for.

My time with the scouts is not on my own terms, I have extra responsibilities, and it's not with my full family. It is actually taking time away from me being with my full family, because if I wasn't with the scouts I would be most likely camping/b-packing with them.

It's not all hiking and camping though. There's weekly meetings, adult training, etc. Also, like two weekends ago, I donated my time to lead the scouts to collect food for the Alameda Co. food bank (aka "scouting for food"). I wouldn't say I myself am donating to the food bank per se, but I did donate my time.

All in all, I feel like the time I am spending in the scouts is benefiting my community and a sacrifice away from my full family. It feels like a donation to me. :dunno

Children's Hospital of Central California, Veterans/Air Force charities.

Lately, do mostly law enforcement fundraisers, school crab feed/auctions, & anything pro 2A.

But I try to only do local area/community things.

I've kinda lost track but I don't care. When I was growing up people did what needed to be done. How could I do any less?

In years past I had donated 1% of my gross income to Charities.
This year I decided to make 2% of my gross income to Charities.
I set up to donate through my online bill pay account to make it easy.

Alameda/Contra Costa Food Bank
DAV
Misc this year was BARF & Nor Cal Wildfire Victims.

:thumbup DAV is much better than WWP

Thank You! My Daughter is a Pediatric Oncology Nurse.

I always got the impression that WWP, like Susan G Komen, are trying to "raise awareness" rather than actually assist people.

Fallen is a group of current and former law enforcement officers created to provide immediate financial support to the families of law enforcement officers that have been killed in the line of duty.

I donate with time and money to this org and usually help with a few other random things.

This is usually where we give either time, money, or toys for Christmas
http://toysforthetroopskids.org/
Toys for the Troops’ Kids, a non-profit charitable organization, provides Christmas toys to the children of American military members by public donations of toys and monetary contributions and may undertake projects in addition to its annual Toy Drive for the benefit of America’s military and their families.

great thread.
When I have extra cash I donate to
4theoceans.
I regularly feed the needy, homeless and starving through my work and extensive outreach.

In the past I've donated money and time fostering Chihuahuas for various organizations that rescue Chihuahuas.

BARF when I remember to do so!
