Which method drains more oil?

my KTM would crank with the kickstand down and killswitch on, but not with killswitch off.

So.... Myth barfers proves the "fill an oil filter bad" as BUSTED!!!
Thanks myth barfers.

no just three people and an autoshop teacher with a different understanding of how stuff works. You should do more research if you want to make a decision your comfortable with.

I mean more research than this that lead you to a comfy decision already.

My oil filter goes on sideways so it really doesn't matter to me.

I say the difference if you fill your filter with oil or not is negligible IMO.

They tell you to warm it up for 2 reasons. 1; If you live some where extremely cold the oil will come out much faster. (think nebraska in the winter) 2; the small particles that settle during long periods of non use will get re-suspeded in the oil and come out with the oil instead of staying in the bottom of the pan. Best method if you want to get the most out is to warm it up pull the drain plug and let it drip all night but unfortunatly most people have better things to do(like ride) than make an oil change a 2 day job.

This. With conventional oil, it's more important to warm it so it's thinner and flows better. It's less of an issue with full synthetics. But in either case, getting all that stuff that might have settled out after a long set stirred up and back into the oil is an over riding consideration. Get the bike up to operating temp and then drain.
