Whiskey

In 10 days my home distilled California sour mash will be 10 months aged (in a 5 gallon oak cask).

Aiming for a year.

Spotted at Costco today. I think this is the first time I've seen The Arran Malt on sale pretty much anywhere outside of boutique liquor stores.

For a 21 year old single malt? Maybe. But again, how often do you really see The Arran Malt for sale...anywhere? Let alone a 21 year old dram.

You have way more patience than me. I hyper age mine and drink/share it. I suppose putting it in a barrel is a worthy endeavor.

There's rum in the near future around here.

That is awesome for you to undertake. Where are you aging it?

took f'ing forever to distill enough because I was using my electric still which has a tiny capacity but I now got a propane tank for my pizza oven so I can use my 5 gallon copper still in the future with a turkey fryer base.

Nice, it is like a familiar friend from around the neighborhood that you can drink.

Even with the loss of the angel's share I should get quite a bit. 5 gallons is 25 bottles of cask strength whiskey which I'll probably water down to 84-90 proof.

You butthole. I have like three of those damn propane tanks and we could have used my brew system to distill.
