who's bought a battery at Costco?

Dunno about out here, but in places where the ground is moist-ish, you can put a car battery on the ground and earthworms/nightcrawlers will come up from the dirt to the surface. It's a handy trick if you're going fishing. :thumbup :redneck

:laughing Nice trick.

Always bought batteries at Costco. Excellent warranty....if you need a new one before warranty expires, they give you a credit on a new one. I got something like a $47 credit on a new one once.

Just bought a new one a few days ago for my RX8. Everywhere was around $130, Walmart was $109. Costco was $77 plus $15 core fee. Changed it in the parking lot and got my cash back in 15 minutes. Just call their service center prior to going to make sure it is in stock.

BTW, their using the Interstate branded batteries now. I think they are the same as the previous Kirkland branded ones. But read somewhere the warranty is a little shorter.

I put a Costco battery in my Subaru a couple years ago. Haven't had any problems with it.

My truck will need a new battery in the not too distant future, it has a... 9? year old Optima yellow top, from when they were good batteries. No issues with it yet but it can't last forever.

I hope you don't have to buy like a 6 pack of them, or something like that. :teeth

Looking into those Trojan batteries, the diesel Monster Truck (TM) is in need of a pair pretty soon, and I'd like to go with something better than the standard Costco/Walmart fare.

we operated golf carts, at work, and even though the Trojans were twice the price, they were half the cost to operate ;)

Convenience of being able to exchange your battery and the one of which ever million walmarts you're about to break down in front of is worth a lot to me

Jason hit the G/F Lottery when he met you. :thumbup:thumbup:thumbup

yea, not gonna happen :laughing

The two I'm running right now spent almost a year sitting outside in Santa Cruz, fully discharged. I'm not at all confused as to why they won't hold a decent charge anymore. And besides, if I buy good ones and something fails, I can still go to Walmart and buy a cheap replacement to get by.
