Not a barfette, but I have a theory...

Women look at men the way men look at used cars... "I can fix that." Nagging seems to their tool of choice.

i'm gonna go out on a limb here. it probably has mostly to do with differing styles of communication and misunderstanding. what's nagging to some is just talking to others.

my wife will often ask me several unimportant questions in a row. often when i'm on the computer. sure, i might just be goofing off (she recognizes the barf baby blue by now), but sometimes i might actually be reading something interesting that i actually want to concentrate on. but it looks the same as "goofing off." conversely, if i have some unimportant questions for her, whose answers i either don't need right away or she will likely tell me without my having to ask her, i usually just don't bother to ask 'cuz it's really unnecessary. she on the other hand, would rather just ask and know.

for her, checking in is important. for me, i'd just rather not bug someone over something that doesn't matter. sometimes it causes friction, other times we realize we just have different temperaments and priorities.

Waaay back when I ran a BBS, wife number one used to nag the living bejesus outta me. Yeah, I think it is an attention thing.
 
Nagging: If I've had to ask you to do something five times in two weeks, it's not that I'm a bitch, it's that you're lazy. Either man up and tell me that you you're not going to do it, or just do it the first time. This passive-aggressive b.s. is for the birds.

I had this really funny post all ready, then I remembered that my wife reads every post of mine, and that even if I was just goofing around, the subject of this one will get me in trouble...
