The LP hasn't been the LP in a while, sadly.

Starting to think the Free Staters have it right...give up on national politics for a while, relocate everyone you can, take over what you can, and call it good. Let the rest rot, because you can't take it all.

I really hope the republicans are smarter than to run her for president.

Yeah, really interesting project.

Doubtful. She is seriously underqualified and hopefully irrelevant by then.

Didn't stop Obama, he was seriously underqualified and we're dealing with that now.

We elect personalities not resumes unfortunately.

FWIW I think Palin will put herself out there only if she can capitalize on any polls that tip against Obama in any great number which may/may not be present in 12...kinda early to tell. Even so, she would have a great shot at VP, but more likely would take part in any cabinet to shore up her experience.

No, she's riding the gravy train making guest appearances on talk shows and book signings. Plus she gave up the Governor's seat for Alaska, like Wazzo said nobody likes a quitter.

Right, as stated, I thought, and still think that Obama is among the least "qualified" (whatever the standard is) presidents we have elected.

However, I think he at least showed potential and intelligence during the campaign, whereas Palin just came across as a partisan idiot. Her latest book tour, etc makes her look even worse.

She cannot possibly be anywhere near the list of most qualified, electable Republicans for 2012.

(Besides, the world will end then anyway...:laughing)

American politics needs more white trash in power. Hail Overlord Palin! someone has to save the mobile home parks from tornadoes

R(Besides, the world will end then anyway...:laughing)

It will only end if she gets elected as president in which she'll press the Red Button and doom us all :|

Obama voted "present" and was a community organizer. Little or no experience there :|, he just had free face time in the MSM and the historical "first black president" imperative working on his side. Obama was boxed and sold like a bag of 10 cent nuts to fans at a baseball game for $5.00. Same attempt to market SP can and I expect will happen, however what stands in her way is that being first woman President undermines the secular progressive, feminist lefts claim to the deserved spot of first "woman" President. She won't benefit from the same media outfits with positive marketing and double standard free treatment no matter how much experience might bring.

FWIW 12' is a loooooong way out, who know's what the climate predicts in 09' though...inflation, recession, wars, all could be easy tipping points for SP in 12

It's funny how people still compare Obama and Palin as if they were running against each other last year. When you come down to it, they were; she succeeded in making her running mate irrelevant.

If McCain happens to die during Obama's first term, we'll know just how fucked we could have been.

She will, however, whine incessantly that she's being attacked solely because of her gender. She has mastered the art of playing the victim card, so we can expect to see a LOT more of this.

Whether it'll actually work is another matter.

The race card has already used ad nauseum by the POTUS or his supporters? But that got ignored here. So lets predict what SP will do in 12' by saying she'll play the victim. She hasn't used it yet after all that went down with the Mccain debacle...the same things were said about Hillary and I defended her against those that were saying she would use it...I don't think she ever really did.

Basically what you are throwing out there Vaara is reinforcing the negative stereotype that women play victim, but its ok because its SP.

Definitely agree here. While Obama didn't actively encourage it, he was treated as a messiah (political and otherwise) by some in the media, many wide-eyed liberals, etc. I still think he has done a pretty good job given all the problems we have at the moment, but he adeptly used these advantages to cover up his deficiencies.

That one can go the other way. If Obama keeps losing weight, smoking, and looking more unhealthy, we may actually be fucked.

Biden's a giant windbag and always has been.

I got to listen to him locally tell us (when the state's unemployment has jumped another 2% in the last 60 days) how great the stimulizer package was working here, and introduce a bunch of people whose jobs were Created And/Or Saved At Least On Paper.
