World Cup

Ridiculous that there are two midnight games tonight.

One in Vancouver and one in Boston; both midnight our time.

9pm local time in Boston.

Midnight local time in Vancouver.

Ridiculous considering true fans in home countries would watch anyway or record.

I'm guessing the stands in either venue will not be exactly packed.

You are correct.

Still damned late local time.

But midnight in Vancouver is midnight there and here and 3am on the east coast.

But many of the stadiums are not full due to "reasons" so I guess it doesn't matter.
 
GAJ- On that, we agree. A World Cup played in a partially empty stadium is a horrible look. Players gotta be WTF?

Also concur that, fans will watch at wee hours. Heck, I had strawberries & cream early hour breakfast for tennis players who would drop into the club to watch the All-England finals at Wimbledon.

I haven't looked to see the actual ticket prices. Game times and empty seats tell enough of that tale.
 
I doubt the teams are flying in and playing on the same day, which means that they will probably be used to US times by now.

This is simply stupid on many levels.
 
Bummer as I wanted to watch in 4k with more than stereo sound.

Fox on Comcast is 1080p in stereo, not surround, which is lame.

You cannot watch the World Cup in English on Peacock, as Peacock only holds the exclusive Spanish-language streaming rights for the tournament.
 
The telemundo/peacock streams are better anyway. The fox broadcasts have missed game play multiple times because they show commercials during the 3 minute hydration break
 
The games have been entertaining so far.

Scotland leading their bracket despite being awful IMHO.
