GoGo I thought you passed out in mid run.
I seen you pop up and over the wall and then take off back up track . Thats when I picked up Jamie on my radar and he looked to be in serious pain. Then all of a SUDDEN you face planted and I thought "damn he ran out if adrenaline"..... but nope you popped right up like a football player and headed back for your target......that fallen comrade of ours. Thanks for helping our friend GoGo !!
A BIG "Heal up quick " to all who got hurt out on the battlefields ! We seen a few get helicoptered out saturday night in calistoga as well.

GoGo, you are the most amazing man...in so many aspects of life. If anyone could've made the crash LESS serious, YOU were the one to do it. Jamie was lucky to have YOU there. We ALL are lucky to have YOU in the AFM racing...stay strong...

Eric your a great guy from what i saw when Kevin, Jeff and myself came to pit wall to see what happened to our friend jamie. I know it might not help much but i have been around a million racers/crashes over my years and to have a guy genuinely sorry even when there was nothing different you could have done was class act! Seriously man, you could not have done anything differently and im sure Jamie will tell you the same. Stay positive man.

Checking in from the ICU
Dear Friends new and old,
This is Jamie Keating checking in from the ICU at Santa Rosa Memorial. I cannot begin to tell you how much it means to me to see the racing community stand behind me during this time. I am going to make a full recovery! At this stage it's possible I may not need surgery other then the surgery I had on my arm. As I'm sure is obvious by the video I had not gotten my bike straightened out by the wheelie hill out of turn 8, I got on the gas, lost my front and the rear came around on me. By the time I knew what had happened I was sliding on my ass down towards turn 9. Greg, Jesse, Eric and I were all bunched up competing for position. I also would like to praise Greg and Jesse for their evasive actions as well considering the tight spacing of our bikes.
Eric, last year a friend of mine who was a professional road racer (Judd Greedy) in the Aussie super bike series was leading his supersport race at Queensland Raceway when he highsided himself and landed on the middle of the track. The riders immediately behind him split him and his bike but the midpackers had no chance. He was killed instantly on impact by his own teammate. It is with an extremely heavy heart that I recount this story and my poor wife has to type for me as my blood pressure monitor beeps out of control. Up until they cut my leathers off me last Sunday, I wore Judd's race number on the back of my leathers. There is no doubt in my mind that had you hit my spine or my head the BEST possible outcome would have been paralysis. The docs here have all confirmed that while pelvic injuries are not easy to repair the point of impact was below the spinal column. Whether it was skill or luck or both that guided your reactions, it really makes no difference. The fact is that I'm going to make a full recovery and for that I owe you a huge debt of gratitude. As the picture below demonstrates you are a class act and admired throughout AFM.
I am a relative new comer to the AFM racing scene and so many of you don't know who I am but I can tell you that the overwhelming level of support that I have received from AFM since Sunday has touched me and my family very deeply. Thank you all so much! Hopefully I might be hobbling around at round 7 with an ice cold corona in hand telling stories about who would have beat whom had I kept it on two wheels.

I'm soo glad your going to make a full recovery. In the 4 years that I've been NMPing with the AFM, your accident might have been the worse I've seen. When I got there, I thought you were going to be out cold; but you were awake and alert and amazingly in good spirits. Despite your accident, you still had the strength to wave to the crowd to let them know you'll be alright.
Gogo, I thought when you made your faceplant into the ground, you weren't going to get up. I felt proud to be a member of the AFM when you got up and approached Jamie. Class act

Many thoughts and experiences race through my head. Of the few things I feared in racing. One was hitting or being hit in a start race - downed rider scenario. The other was being airlifted.
I very narrowly avoided being the "hitter" at the front of an FP start (a long scene that will never leave my memory) But in a long career on a different day, I could not avoid the air taxi ride.
A racing life is filled with great passion, it is one of the things that attact such interesting and genuine people. For there is no place to hide who you really are. In the heat of the moment or the intesity of crisis, the true make up of men is there before all.
People ask me if I miss racing. No, but I do miss the incredible people involved.
Nowhere else can you find such dedicated, passionate people in all of life.
We lost a few in my time, I lost a few for sure.
I don't know one of you, the other I know fairly well. After reading this thread it's clear you are both assets to the family.
It's a fine day to be alive. Pleased you're both still here.
With Eric's writing skills and his ability to relate a story - it only seems natural he write a book someday. I for one will surely read it.

Hey Jamie, all kidding aside, as far as who was gonna beat who that fateful day, I was setting the whole field up for an inside pass into turn one on the next go around. Even Lenny, all in one shot, screw it. So I don't wanna hear any nonsense later about how you were gonna win the thing. Don't even go there...
I don't know if the nurses gave you my message. They won't let me in to see you till you're out of ICU. I even told them it was all my fault. Nothing. So get the hell out of there already. We're all headed up to see you soon as you're out, the whole team. And Roxy is hotter than hell so be prepared to look like you're not interested. That's what I do. Sonny has bouncers for dogs.
I'm glad you're gonna be ok, but I also realize you're not yet. Hospitals play like Nike commercials, only backwards. Life is no longer what you make it, it's what comes to visit you. So we will come to visit you. Feel better till then, cause you're gonna feel like crap once we get there..

Glad to hear you're going to recover Jaime. I am new to AFM but watching this all unfold has shown me that there are some really great people in this club and I am very proud to be apart of it.

Your post is inspiring and I'm glad you are ok. The seriousness of your own crash and condition of your bike are a pretty clear indication you put your own safety aside and did everything you could for Jamie. I hope you are able to get your bike back together and keep my fingers crossed Jamie will be out to spectate and cheer us all on.

nm..i was just trying to make a friend laugh. guess GoGo misread my intentions. i think his wife is aware of my sense of humor and besides we are all adults here and if you have ever had a catheter you know what pain it is going in and what laughs can be had at you when it comes out. oh well.
