Sykes is running the same bike & tires as Rea. Is he that bad at setup?

Fun looking through your screenshots Plaid :thumbup

Hawk Hayes signed for life (son of Josh and Melissa Hayes)

This is cute... thought I would share.

I can name a few of the people in the group photo can you?

From American Supercamp
Monterey - CA, ASC signs Hawk Hayes to a lifetime contract.

New addition to the Hayes/Paris team. Hawk Hayes inks a deal that will see him receive a lifetime of free Supercamps.

Asked about this groundbreaking move ASC proprietor Danny Walker says, "The market now days for up and coming riders is getting tough.
With Hawks pedigree we thought we had better get him signed as soon as possible."

In all honesty Josh and Melissa have been such great supporters of our program over the years and we thought this would be a fun way to say thank you.

Four Time National Superbike Champion and father to Hawk Hayes, Josh Hayes commented, "We're excited that American Supercamp has an interest in Hawk, we had a lot of options for him and we feel like we chose the right crew to cultivate Hawk through the years. We're looking forward to the future and hopefully since he's going to be doing multiple sports, we hope that his pedigree flows into all things he chooses."

Sykes is running the same bike & tires as Rea. Is he that bad at setup?

Sykes was complaining about his front tire after the first race, and so were other riders. I don't know about the second, because they didn't interview him, or he just hid in his bunk.

(edited)Interesting that Herrin's time in MA would have had him 6th in WSBK.
I can only think the difference was weather and strange to him tires.

All the Americans are behind Josh in WSBK

15. Josh Herrin, USA (Yam YZF-R1), 1:24.182
16. Jake Gagne, USA (Hon CBR1000RR SP2), 1:24.291
19. PJ Jacobsen, USA (Honda CBR1000RR SP2), 1:24.802

based solely on info contained in post-races press releases on RRW site:

— Herrinz bike was the same in all 4 races, save race #s & rubber - WOW!!
— he pulled in early from MA R1 to prep for SBK R1 (no spasms mentioned)

dunno any deep details about him getting punished by MA -
mebbe more info will filter out this week, or not.....

Cool... day in the life stuff :thumbup

Thanks for the pics Kelso. Any man-on-the-scene reporting to share?

Also, MotoAmerica Superbike Race 1 has been posted to YouTube:

I found it interesting that only a few WSBK racers were 3-time winners, and now JR65 is a 4 time winner.

You know who has the most and how many?

Josh Hayes. 6-time winner at Laguna Seca.

Dude's a legend. But, you already knew that.

Carry on.

Interesting. I wonder how Roger Hayden's wife feels about that?

Absolutely. As with field combatants, many times more support personnel are required per soldier. The unsung have stories, too. Great stuff, bro Kelso, and much appreciated.

What happened to Josh Hayes? Did Graves replace him with GG? Announcers said something about an injury earlier in the year? Who's he riding for if not Graves?

Hayes is retired. Graves Yamaha signed Garrett Gerloff to replace him on the Superbike at the end of last season.

Hayes is still very involved in the team and coaching the riders and promoting the Graves Yamaha brand but he's not racing. I don't think he really wanted to retire but thats how it worked out. There was an interview with him earlier this year where he was very frank about how difficult it was to not be racing.

Edit: got stuck in some sort of time warp. BARF wasn't showing me the replies from RCB or Lucky Jones. Sorry for repeating the same info.
