Hi, my brother and I are thinking about purchasing an xr 50 or crf 50, we are thinking about racing it and are wondering what are some of the differences between the two, thanks in advance.

The CRF bandwagon is getting pretty heavy, makes sense to apply the CRF label to the XR50 doesn't it?

I just wish Kawi/Yamaha/KTM would come out with a 50 in four stroke format. :cry

Edit: ahahaha, I just figured out who you are Vrooooom!!! The leathers and the rupp roadster gave it away for sure. ;)

the plastics are also better on the crf it makes it feel more like a newer dirtbike.

i think the plastisc are worth the 100 extra they look way better.

The real differences between the CRF and XR is that the crf now has a full alloy/aluminum kick starter and that the rear fender and shrouds are 3 pieces instead of 1 like the xr. There is a little difference in the fork travel if you look on the honda website. I think that the CRF looks better then the XR, but i am bias though. ;)

if you want, i can get new crf50's shipped out here from nh for 1300 + my personal handling fee ($50?)...lemme know
