Well, Jocelyn and I hit Mines and Del Puerto Canyon road this weekend and even ate at the Junction restaurant for the first time.
Her finger has been bothering her alot less in the last week and so she wanted to give a nice "slow" twisty ride a chance to see how it would effect her hand.
After turning onto Mines from Tesla road everything was going smoothly with me leading out at a very relaxed and sedate pace...
I look constantly in my mirrors and watch as she rode along in my wake, looking very confident and smooth.
...at about mile mark 15 or so a few bikes pass us on the left. I count them as they pass, and am shocked as I see Jocelyn rip by me in tow with the other riders.
At this point I accelerate and have to follow, watching as she hit each corner shifting left and right in the seat, hitting the apexes late like the riders in front of her and accelerating hard out of each turn.
The pace was high enough and the road twisty enough that I couldn't get around her to slow her down, and my own slowing till I was almost out of sight behind her did NOT register as a signal for her to slow.
Finally, we hit a straight section and rolled on hard to move in front of her, waving my left arm for her to slow down.
She finally took the direction and dropped into line behind me for the several more miles to the junction cafe...
"That was fun!"
"What the Hell was that all about?"
"what?"
"You haven't been here enough times to ride like that, can you keep the speed down a little, especially on Del Puerto, there's bound to be gravel and rocks in the corners"
the whole time we were walking from where we parked the bikes toward the restaurant. I have to admit I was rather irritated with her at the time. And worried...
"I was just following the other people, doing what they did"
"You don't follow other people, you do what I do, for now"
"But whatever you're doing, you don't do it fast enough!"
*sigh*
