Hey guys. Im thinking about picking up a 2001 yz426f. I have read a few reviews of them but I would love to hear what you all have to say about them. Thanks a lot!!!

That's an awesome bike, lot's of horsepower, very reliable. If it's in decent condition and the price is right, get it. I have a friend who's got one and he loves it. I've heard a lot of people say they like 'em better than the 450's. You might have to tweak the suspension, but that goes for most bikes anyway.

I have one and love it. It is heavy, and the suspension is not that great (nothing $$ can't fix) but man does it have a great motor.

It is not a modern 450, but they are green sticker, cheap and very reliable. The best mod you can do is the auto decompression cam, it makes the bike so much more friendly to ride!

Great! Thanks for the info!!! And how much is that cam mentioned?

I put the cam with the auto decomp in my WR250F and it was about $140. Made it nice and easy to kick and cuts down on the "starting routine" shenanigans. We bought an `01WR250F and a 426 new in `02 and they've been very reliable. Keep a close eye on your valves and change the oil all the time and you should be good to go.
