David, maybe this is a basic skill I should have learned ages ago, but do you know if we'll be covering how to blip the throttle on downshift, as well as finding the best gear to be in for the best possible drive out of a corner? Thanks!
We'll definitely be discussing gear selection and various techniques but we probably won't go into too much depth on throttle blipping. That is definitely NOT a basic skill; that's an advanced skill. It's not that it's technically difficult to do but it takes a LOT of practice to get it right consistently every time.
Make it a point to bring it up in the appropriate classroom session and ask the instructor for input. Then, on followup trackdays, we can work with you on that skill specifically so you can get an idea about what to practice.
