HoHo Midsummer Magic Rally. August 12-14, 2022

Marked Safe (and home) From another great Weaverville Rally.
Small turnout, but full of quality people.
Thank You Reama for all you do to make this Rally happen each year.

Glad you boys had a good time. :thumbup

Jeff, Mike and I had a GREAT ride around the Forks of the Salmon loop in your honor Bud.

Part of it is awesome... the cliffs not so much. :laughing

HOME SWEET HOME

Tuned in, Pirates @ Giants
Jacked in, Headphones, tv weak speakers
Chill out, AC is louder
Heavy lifting, Done
AQI 452, temp 96 @ 3:pm 8:p

Quiet time now for reflecting, lots to process, my imagination vs reality.
Good to talk dirt bikes vs SxS drivers, they don't get it.
Realizing when the asphalt aveng, , aviators, blew in I didn't belong on that ride.
I'm keeping my chicken strips, secret.

6am … that’s Weaver Bally overlooking Weaverville, pretty smoky.

and right now. a good stiff breeze is at my back taking the pics, from out of the east.

here’s a pic looking off towards Forks of the Salmon, right now, Trinity Lake and the Trinity Alps, and I have a clear view of Mt Shasta:

we’ll see what tomorrow brings … :angel

Yeah, we talked about how much Bud liked the cliffhangers.
We did the 3, Etna, Sawyers Bar, F of S, Callahan Cecilville to 3 loop counter clockwise. I've never done it in this direction so it was like new roads.
Had lunch at the Denny Bar distillery in Etna. 4 pretty, young, servers taking turns making sure all our dining needs were met and a nice Rye on the rocks made for a great event.

Just so everyone else knows, Nobody Don't Belong. :afm199
Anyone/everyone who want's, belongs on this ride. We don't discriminate. Dirt, pavement, dual sport, cage. If you show up, you will be accepted.
We had bikes from Yamaha TW200's to Big old Road Kings, and everything in between.
Did I mention that I had a great time? Well, I did. :ride

Missed that completely, past few months of wandering by myself, I stop a lot to smell the flowers. Some tight little track that runs off into the woods from the pavement a bit, away from road noise. So I can hear the birds, creek flow, wind in the trees.
You weekend warriors have to jamb in max fun every minute for an acceptible return on time spent away. I got that, I had to work too, I saw that zen flow all over those road burners rolling in, with a side of happy.

So more like a dirt woods ride that I do, while my dirt scoot is in storage.
Hell, I felt guilty for getting all the good stuff, with blue sky, and left ya'll with smoke.

The sleepover part seems to carry dirt bike camping fellowship into the street side.
Packing up Stonyford, for the road. Don't see that in Sturgis
I done the RV tag along before, the smoke killed it for me this time, limiting parking lot party.

The smoke was tough for sure. I’m a stop tease pics and smell the roses kind of gal myself. Asphalt is a sworn enemy. Most of my lingering ouchies come from luging on it so no longer a goal. I should’ve pressed you to take me along on a ride :ride

First one I've missed in a few years. Wish I had made it! I spent the last two weekends doing a deep dive on the 990. Next year!

few pics from me, my sixth BARF Weaverville/HoHo Rally, guess I missed one:

and …

one last pic of the Weaver Bally watchtower, ten short miles from the 49er parking lot … guess I visited it four times during the 2022 BARF HoHo Midsummer Magic Rally (two sunrises and two sunsets). :loser

What an adventure, Mine started 6/1, ended Monday, when the sky changed from yellow to grey, and felt like Morro Bay.

I went west 299, thru four OLRF's to 101. I didn't stop in Willow Creek, wanted to, missed all the Bigfoot stuff.
The smoke stopped with a twist and turn of the steep river valley, one turn yellow, next, clear to the coast. Never seen that.

My rig smelled of smoke for a day, more cleaning.
Dogs around now, no more deer in my back yard, culture shock.
So much stuff I need to do, get my head wrapped around my life, other than three months of Rally prep.

It was great to meet with the dirt crowd a bit, back to my roots. Those feels comforting, in my time of isolation from the 'rona. This is scaring me now, it's been years ??
I'll do a month in Vacaville in Oct. Morro Bay , next until June?

I did buy the local newspaper, it had a piece on the Weaverville Bolly lookout, and all the stuff that happened my solo week. I'm saving it for somebody, , ,

I got to talk with Bobert and his mom, his place is busy with bike groups staying there, making life easy for him.

New last nite, tv interview of an employee of Holiday Market.
Done a day after I left, talking about how the smoke is slowing business over the last week, same yellow sky, just for my homesickness?
