HoHo Midsummer Magic Rally. August 12-14, 2022

No exact location notation from Inciweb. Evac zone seems to be at Trinity/Humbolt line along 299. Inciweb says 5 areas just over 1,100 acres. Ridges Waterman, Friday, Ammon. Projected Salyer, Willow Creek, S fork Trinity River.

Moto foto from inciweb Six Rivers Lighting complex fire.

wow, that’s a dramatic pic! :thumbup

I’m still at least a hundred miles south of the fires, but here’s a view to the north this am:

not smoky yet … I hope to be at the Hayfork Bally watchtower later today, and should be able to see better from there. guess it all depends on the wind? it was blowing from the East to the West yesterday.

Easy Sat. here, drug out the mini for shopping in town, then wait for the evenings fun to start.

Big doin's @ the Brewery, a Ukrainian band doing a fundraiser, won the night.
It was packed with cars, patio party, kind of 'rona safe, not for me.

Art walk got a few tourists pushing baby carrages, I followed my nose and found a Thai/Chinese joint that was pretty good. Some side thing in a park with a band I never heard play in my three trips thru there. Also a disc golf course, play a round?

Some crews were swapped in on Sat. Two green crew trucks, Black Butte Hot Shots, I happened to catch heading west past my place.

Looking good can’t wait to see you!

Stars ARE lining up, fortunes are cast.
Had my Sat nite fortune cookie on Sun nite and found this, , ,

" You will attract cultured and artistic people to your home"

It became painfully clear as I was clean/lube my chain, I need to clean house for company this weekend, too.

Pix, left of the tree, as deep as the back tables, Sunday doing laundry,
a forked horn in velvet trimming the lawn, 30 feet away.

I'm beginning to think deer here are as sacred as cows in India.
I can't go anywhere in town without seeing a few.
I did roll uphill a bit in residential, found some old log cabins in extensive tree cover. No sunlight for 50+ years, and deer.

Just doesn't seem fair, some get to slam the door and dissappear down the road for the weekend.
I take my house to the party and stay a month, lifestyle, is gonna bite me this weekend.

view of the smoke, to the north east from Hayfork Bally watchtower, right now. you can see how it isn’t making it to Weaverville, yet. the wind is blowing to the correct direction from the south East, I guess. Weaverville is to the left, and you can see the Trinity Alps.

I’m a couple hours from you right now, was thinking of swinging through Sidney Gultch to say hello on my way towards the Cappu/Shasta OHV area, where I’m camping tonight …

I’ll check here when I get to Weaverville. :ride

Cal Fire moving west thru town, all day Monday, along with owner/operator heavy equipment, and RVs to live in.

Another “one lane road, flagman” = OLRF, to the top of the grade, Hwy 3, just off Hwy 299 Douglas City.

I headed for Hayfork, it seems my chicken strips were quite visible when I got there, city limits, my first sign of smoke.
White wispy above the ridge line @ 12:00. Way more smoke just over the hill @ 2:00.
Smoke isn’t moving much yet for an inversion holding the smoke close won’t let it burn fast, wind, and away it goes.

Only naked (above tree line) pointy knob with a lookout I could see today.
So I got this pix, I gave it the BARF welcome salute, making it BARF Official ? ? ?

Tuesday laundry, groceries, cleaning house, , ,

Confirming, south by southeast wind 3 to 5, puffing to ten, past three days, my place.
Temps forecast as lowering, a bit.

Mgr just came by to ask about my visitor today from SFMC, mentioned the card left on windshield.

Todays air quality in Weaverville. I spoke to a friend that lives in Junction City and she reports that the smoke comes and goes.
The winds should shift to NW on Thursday and it will clear up.

DINNER PLANS:
Saturday evening, 6:30, Tangle Blue. They have good pizza and great salads.
160 Nugget Ln, Weaverville, CA 96093

There is also a shuttle to get there if you want to drink. I plan to ride over.

Good Morning Weaverville,
Temps for the day, 102* tv news, 97 weatherapp.
Hazardous air quality, way cleaner this morning, cool air settles, over what was blowing down off the grade @ 4:pm when I got home, like the last two nites.
About three minutes of outdoors to trash my sinuses, 20 minutes of indoor, to where I can breathe, and a pile of soggy tissues. I hit the brewery for a chicken sandwich, to go, out by 5:15p. Went thru the process testing air @ 6:30p and 8:10P no change.

Had to hit the grocery store for more leche, this morning, cruised the motel 9:20A,
One bike left, no tools out thrash, pretty quiet.

More deer here as I load up, before it gets hot

I don't envy the ride home you guys get, 1 and 101 should be blue skies, like homeward after the Redwood Run, without smoking panheads.
