Dirt bikers attack scooter rider in Mission

Ok, you can stop now. There is absolutely ne need for your logic here. This is the internet. Guns can solve most problems on the internet. :x:sniper
My apologies.

I have to tell my gun owning friend more than once, "no Dave you just can't do that" when he wants to shoot trespassers on his rural property.

a SFPD policy the riders are already well aware of—as are most folks who are paying attention. :laughing:ride

fishing nets! how else can you stop these guys? You can't, and someone will get hurt.

Yeah, we blew it. I hadn’t heard about the violence yet. I still thought it was old people and non-riders complaining. Maybe Ill
get another chance.

I fully recognize I’m probably being naive about their other criminal and violent pursuits. Conversations like this, in which people dream of decapitating these guys and laying out marbles and what not, are even more ridiculous and out of control in non-rider groups.

What are the odds of them having bought and paid for those bikes

Two on one attack is considered overwhelming force. Legally, you could use a firearm in self defense, even in Kalifornia. However, being San Francisco, you would probably be charged, even though you'd likely win in court.
an expensive proposition.
Best bet, stay the Hell out of San Fransicko.

Maybe the cops could, you know, start pulling people over when they break the law? I live in Oakland and I see it every single day. It’s like a free-for-all on the streets. And it isn’t always an unruly mob. Oftentimes it’s just one guy acting like a jerk on a dirtbike. Cops need to start holding people accountable. It’s bullshit that they don’t.

There has been an unofficial work-stoppage by SFPD for at least 7-8 years now.
"Oh, why should we arrest anyone if "Insert district attorney name here" won't do anything?"
or "Oh, why should we arrest anyone if "Insert Judge name here" won't do anything?"

or
"Talk to my union rep."

As a retired public employee union (elected executive) I have to say that some public sector unions need to be subject some type of regualation.

Are you speaking to the two that attacked the individual on the scooter, or the roving pack of dirtbikes / quads?

Those are two uniquely different scenarios.

Two or more people suddenly beating the brakes off your ass unprovoked in broad daylight, you have no means to immediately run away from the situation, you feel your life is in mortal threat? = gun.

100s of dirtbikes going by in a pack and you're just standing there watching it happen with no immediate threat to you or yours? = no gun.

That's pretty cut and dry. Your first priority is to defend your life, your second is to shut the fuck up, your third is to let the legal system sort it out afterwards.
There are quieter, more discreet ways to disable an attacker in close quarters. Messier, but equally effective.

Gang of 30-40 dirt bikes and ATVs running wild in Wappingers Falls on Sunday, terrorizing the village. Two bikers collided, leaving one seriously injured in the middle of route 9D.

NY.

So not just a California thing.

A quick google reveals issues in cities in Michigan and Ohio as well.

Didn't this crap start in Baltimore? If not, they were certainly early adopters.

Just blue states?
Hey, I'm not sure if it is intentional or not, but I sure get the feeling that many of your comments have a political theme, slant, or vibe. Official Moderator request: Please stop making political comments / commentary outside of the Political Forum.

Maybe we should get these guys to go after the dirt bikers
