My safe really needs to be emptied out of firearms and their accessories. Ag and Au space will remain, however. Interests and priorities change. My friend needs more Au and Ag equivalent, and firearms etc. are of little use to that end.
 
I actually spent mega $ on walking shoes today, more than I have ever spent in the past. I am burning a few miles on city sidewalks each a.m. and want to try some new soles. My old tried and true Merrel Moabs are going to be supplemented by a pair of ON Cloud X4s. Ooh, aah, kiey ay yippee yay, y'all.

I tried a few Hoka models at REI, which seem to be all the rage, but as I pronate, I felt like I was stepping on a wedge on my outside heel with each step. I don't buy into all the rage stuff.

A fun encounter with a fellow shopper, (lady, similarly aged) shoe buyer, she heard I was a size 9.5-ish, larger left foot, looking for something new, she called out "we are a married, perfect fit". She was shopping for hikers to take to Macchu Picchu next month. A fun encounter, we caught up on our "marriage" in short order. She is marred as well. My real wife wasn't so amused. No harm done nerds, no harm done, all in good fun, taken as such by all. She went on her merry way, dreaming of eating guinea pigs in a few weeks, I presume. Yum.

REI will have the Merrells on sale next month, 20% off, and I will get a replacement pair then. They feel like old friends on my feet, and will be pair no. 4. ON shoes are on order from Sports Basement. Carry on, and have a good night.
 
My sister texted me yesterday that she's retiring. She's a teacher and her specific role is being eliminated so rather than teach rowdy disrespectful 5th graders she's tapping out a wee bit early. Full pay through August then she'll pull retirement funds and be available for substitute teaching duties for a few extra bucks now and then.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little envious.
 
Working at a bike shop is basically my retirement plan, so I guess I'm retired, just without the mortgage paid off or any access to my 401k...

there are ways to tap your 401k before 59 and not get penalized, look up 72t sepp rules
 
I can see retirement coming. Nervous on how to keep making some $$$ this year without fucking up the following year with having to work more than I want to close shit down.

Mostly because of my employees. I want to make sure they are good, but at the same time.... I want to be good too.

Mine is just living cheaper and still workin'. That 72t SEPP thing sounds interesting, but also it is probably a bad idea for me to start taking wthdrawals now since I'm 11 years away from even being 59. It is tempting to go full on and pay off the mortgage / dip into the 401k and live easy.
