I GUARANTEE no ones production BMW S1000 will be making 179 HP at the rear wheel when the bike hits the showroom for the masses..

maybe, but i think it will be decent, the engine revs pretty high.

it has a redline of 14,200 RPM, and a power peak at 13k. i don't think the other literbikes rev quite that high. the GSXR is like 13.5k i believe.

yea i'm glad there is a new rider because that last guy was a fucking tool! Out there in B group trying to "prove something" and the only thing he proved is that he wasn't that good. He destroyed that bike! he was crying the whole time "someone hit me someone hit me" when infact no one was even close to him (i was in the garage with all control riders that observed his dumbass crash)

He crashed on like the first or second lap of the B session when clearly he did not let the tires warm up with the pavement and i'm pretty sure they didn't have tire warmers on it before he went out because they were showing it!

The bike looks nice too bad you had some one like that promoting it, it single handedly turned alot of people off about the bike (a ton of people thought that if their own "rider" couldn't ride the bike how good can it be at the track typa thing)

I'm glad there's someone else out there that day too to support what I said. Dude had his story going around the whole pit that that someone hit him. That idiot wreck the bike himself. Dude had his whole bmw staff believing that someone hit him from behind. They all pointed to the dent in the fawkin exhaust. I was like fawk that. If someone did actually hit him from behind, where's the other down rider? None. If someone did actually hit him with their front tire into his exhaust, it wouldn't put a dent like that.

Derik, who was control riding that day, was on the track with that fool when that fool passed him up before crashing.

The dude should had just man up and say he fawked up. Sh*t, I've elbow someone off turn 3 at WSIR before when our elbows and knees touched and our bikes were about to get tangle. And when the guy went tumbling and ate it because he panic and grabbed a hand full of brakes, I went up to Dustin (Trackdaz) in front of 30 riders and said, "My bad. My fault. Takes tow people. I was part of that wreck up there."

But since it was none of my business or Derik's. I don't anybody bother to clear the story to the other bmw staff members.

You're right, I was turned off with his cocking attitude to show off the bike and turned off at a fawked up bike.

Yeah, I've seen it in person. A BMW dealer of North County brought out a silver one to Buttonwillow as a promotional thing on 6/21/09. I sat on the bike. I didn't feel at home on the bike. I do admit that there's a lot of nice features on the bike. Base price around $13k and the ABS electronic package around $15k. But for me, it didn't do much to sway me to buy the bike. Personal opinion is that the bike had cheap plastics. Don't know how to explain it. But then again, it's just my opinion. The front is okay. But didn't do much to please the rest of the other guys out there too.

Funny thing is, I'd asked the dude if he was taking the bike out on the track. Dude smartly replied that, of coarse he was. That's why they brought it out. Dude crashed out going into cotton corner at BW on the first session. Dork. He was all covered in dirt lying on the tables and the bike was fawked up. He'd even blamed and told every one (his BMW dealer staff, LetsRideTrackDays's staff, and the other riders) that some one came up behind him and hit his bike while he was in a right hand lean. And he pointed to the dent on the exhaust to support his claim.

Funny thing was, a friend of ours (Derik, races wera too) who was control riding that day saw the whole thing. Explained that the dork had pasted him and another control rider up like he was an AMA racer or something and was hauling ass into cotton corner. Dude locked the rear up and high sided. There was no one around him.

Was there a sale on "the bike" yesterday that I missed?

The silver bike seen at Button Willow was a pre-production model. Just like the 2 seen at Laguna Secal MotoGP and the one being ridden on track days in East Coast.

Expect the final production model to have a bit different finish and details (silver forks, pattern on some surfaces, etc.)
