Thanks for the news link. We won't be going to Carnegie Saturday.
If any of you still want to meet and go ride on pavement, I'm up for that. Maybe up Mt. Diablo and along the "goat trail" of Morgan Territory Road?
So I'll be at the meeting spot in Dublin at 8:00 a.m. anyway with my XR650L, but wearing street gear rather than dirt gear.
I'm still trying to figure out why so many people, including the news reporter, pronounce Corral Hollow like "coral" of coral reef, rather than "corral" like a horse corral.
Scott - Plus one on the coral/corral thing. Morgan Territory road sounds good so does climbing Mt. Diablo. Is it possible to loop back on Finley as Google maps says from Morgan T. Rd.? I didn't think that road went through. Your call on route but was curious if that was possible. Ideas for some longer rides I want to do (let me know if you are interested or if you have done them before and how long they took you.)
Bollinger Canyon to Moraga
Mines to 130 to Alum Rock to N. White to Calaveras

Easy pace. We won't leave you behind. I tend to lean the bike into the corners more, but ease off on the straights so that people can catch up. For this ride, I'll do my best to ride at a pace that you're comfortable with.Bummer ... Just picked up bunch stuff from Cyclegear. Next time ...
Riding on pavement sounds good. I haven't been to the east bay much. What will be you guys' pace on pavement though ...
Looking forward to it.Easy pace. We won't leave you behind. I tend to lean the bike into the corners more, but ease off on the straights so that people can catch up. For this ride, I'll do my best to ride at a pace that you're comfortable with.
If I could ride all of the dirt roads in the hills shown on the maps, satellite photos, and that you can see out of an airplane window, the majority of my riding would be on dirt instead of pavement. Unfortunately, they're just about all private property with gates and fences.Map says you can but satalite shows a gate to dirt road. Never sure how much to trust satalite because images are a few years old but you are right, no way through.
We should definitely reschedule a dirt ride. Can you provide a map of the saturday ride, some dirt trails would be nice
I don't know of any dirt trails that we can legally ride on in that area. Lots of them for mountain bikes, but none for anything with a motor.I am very disappointed about CarnegieWe should definitely reschedule a dirt ride. Can you provide a map of the saturday ride, some dirt trails would be nice

The "rough approximation" map was only to show where Morgan Territory Road is at and the route up and down Mt. Diablo. It appears we are suppossed to meet for the start at the fountain in downtown Livermore as the new map says. It's unclear to me exactly when and where though so I'm taking a similar route to your's Scott solo. Maybe I'll see you guys on the road.

Fancy seeing you up there. I hope Morgan T. was free of traffic like it was for me at 8am. It was a good ride, about 77 miles for me door to door. I think we did almost the same ride but in reverse directions. I look forward to a real dualy ride, hopefully it won't have to be to Hollister.
