My Ongoing Pirelli Angel ST Review

just to bring up an alternative, i love my pilot road 2 tires on my XB. im way faster on my XB than my 1125CR which has corsa IIIs. I know this because, i had a couple of friends tell me so. I had the bikes up on stands and i sat on the bike and tucked and they said that i looked way faster and more comfy on the XB than i did on the CR.

also, while the bikes were on the stands... we threw rocks on the PR2s and the corsa IIIs and more rocks stuck on the PR2 tires than the latter. this means the PR2s have more grip.

lastly, we spun the front tires like a wheel of fortune then we stopped it with our hands, we measured the how long it took for the tires to stop spinning and found that the PR2s stopped faster, which shows better stopping power than the corsa IIIs.

Some good info there. Didn't happen to hit those tires with the sprinkler for a wet weather shootout?

Looking forward to more product reviews.

Good job there Mille , now anyone who rides through that area on an APE is going to get stopped and asked " is your name nathan and are you running 17/38 gearing?"

Keerist most people that dig a hole for themselves just use a shovel , or at most a backhoe , not you....uh UH.....*you* gotta bring in a freaking Euclid mining earthmover and a truckload of dynamite.

Its the intrawebs , shit i could say i do 210 mph on the tollway twice a day and three times on Sunday. I seriously doubt the local leo's are gonna come looking for me because i wrote it on the web.:laughing

I'll vouch for Nathan, he's real, and we've talked at Skip's before. He puts up with more bs than I EVAR could, and still keeps his sense of humor and belief in himself. He seems to have absolutely NO fear, about what others think, and seems to accept others without judging them.

:dunno

I've had the exact same experience meeting him. he's a standup guy and has a genuine interest in being a nice/friendly guy.

Sides on my front also wore out before the middle. Strange. Anyway, how the heck are you getting 10k out of them on a litter bike?

Probably cuz most of my riding is done going around 75mph at 4,500 rpms on a highway.
I due find myself taking it alot easier on the aprilia than I used to on my gixxer.
probably cuz I know how much it'll cost if I mess up.
I would just get stupid on the suzi and was afraid I might kill myself.
switched to ducati then aprilia and I find myself saying "do I really need to go that fast around that corner?" "Do I really need to pop a wheelie?"
Maybe that's why. I do go WOT on occasions but only getting onto the freeway til I get up to speed. Or maybe passing a car.
so like for 3 seconds at a time maybe?
I guess I am just not as agressive as I used to be.

i remember mounting that rear back LAST may :laughing

10K on a litre bike is crazy, good info!

Thats not at all uncommon. Pretty typical actually.

Hmm don't think I got 10k out of mine, but not 100%. I am not on a litter bike, and don't ride aggressively (I think). This time I noted mileage will see.

I was refering to the wear pattern. I've never gotten 10K from a sport tire but it shouldn't be unusual with a sport touring tire, I wouldn't think.

i can't even get 10,000 from a tire on a cruiser..:wtf

Shit...im having trouble getting 5k on my BT23. But im a little more mean to my bike than you are.

So I just got back from a spirited ride. 60mph twisties through the mountains
for about an hour. lots of the medium side compound has been worn and is starting to level out the treads on the front tire.

SHIT. While taking a picture of the back tire I notice a little peice of metal.
I grab onto it with pliers and slowly start to pull it out...
TSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
push it back in. seen in picture in vertical center of tire slightly to the right.

back tire is going to get replaced prior to finding its true lifespan.
I think the front tire is wearing out faster due to I only brake with my front brake, and also the engine braking this bike has when downshifting.

I am definitely going to get another Angel st, though this time in a 190/55.
And might as well get a front while I'm at it. I may only get another 2,000miles outta it.

I wore out my rear and replaced it with another, then the front starting feeling like shit not long after - so yeah, makes sense to replace both.

Disclaimer: This post says more about BARF as a whole than it does about the OP or the OP's thread.

Back on topic, I have done tire reviews as well, not sure why, but they have been well received.

Can you please give more details about the tires you're testing, I hear nothing about personality, warm up time, side to side transition, how they interact with rain grooves, at what point in the tire life they stop working vs new etc. The information you've provided on the tires thus far seems painfully vague to me.

Thanks,

Triple
