What’s a Rally?
This is not an organized or guided group-riding event. There are no designated leads or sweeps. This is a rally with pre-determined routes, common points-of-interest and destination for the participants. The daily starting point and time are provided to allow the participants the greatest opportunity to enjoy the company of other BARFers and BARFettes along the way for the duration of the rally. Participants are free to band into groups of their choosing, and at their own risk.

You are responsible for yourself
Riding a motorcycle is dangerous. You are responsible for your own safety. Proper riding gear, valid CDL/M1, vehicle registration and proof of insurance are highly recommended. You are also responsible for the good operating condition of your motorcycle. The good condition includes general mechanical condition, as well as the condition of wear items such as chains and sprockets, brake pads, and tires. Having your trip interrupted by a mechanical failure or balding tires 350 miles away from home can suck badly. Triple-check your gear and equipment. In short, YOU are the Captain of your own ship.

Expenses
You are responsible for your own expenses. Budget accordingly for lodging, park fee(s), gas, food, beverages, and anything you may need along the way.

Ninety bucks for a Motel Six? Is this some kind of special BARF deal-y-o to fund racers?
:wow
Who's going to moderate? All heck could break loose, here.
I could ride home from there, if I don't consume too many Beer-Drinking-Bleeding-Clams. Hmmm. Sounds like I might have to get a room.

There is no fund raising involved for the prices listed. BARF doesn't get one dime from it. Paso Robles is the most expensive BARF rally locale for sure. Our last visit here was back in 2009, so it's due. You really can't beat the conveniences (the surrounding roads, quick freeway on/off, choices of food, availability of gas and alcohol :laughing) this location has to offer.

BARFers have always behaved well enough at whichever property we choose to stay for each rally. Every property we have stayed with in the past welcomes us back with open arms, and this Motel 6 is no different. Here is a note from the last GM:

Hey guys,

Thank you very much for your stay with us here in Paso Robles. I would like to thank you for probably being our best group we have had at our property and would like to welcome you all back anytime! I hope you all had a great weekend and the next time you guys plan a gathering in the Central Coast give me a call ahead of time and I can see if there is anything I can do for the group! Thanks again guys and hope to see you guys again!

Paso Robles Motel 6

I suppose we have been lucky that we haven't seen any "hell breaking loose" in the evening hours on these trips. I suspect though it is mostly due to the fact that the BARFers and BARFettes on these events are not only accomplished riders, but are also seasoned and experienced party goers... We all know how to have fun without ending up in a meat wagon or at an ER :laughing

If you plan on joining in on the fun and consuming alcohol, please do plan on spending the night at the motel. Don't drink and drive/ride.
