I've sold a lot of stuff on BARF and usually set a REALLY fair price just to move it quickly. I also always tell the buyer that if they are not happy to let me know and I'll gladly refund their money with no questions asked. I never had one person pm me asking for their money back, but I did have one person ask me to write them a bill of sale over a year later because their bike got stolen and they needed to show the insurance company proof they had upgraded their bike.

So YOU ARE NOT BUYING SWOL JESUS BIKE ? :laughing

Who says I didn't make him a side deal that included his chubby pale harlot?

i have no problems with ridiculous prices. if a buyer is willing to overpay, that's their business.

i do think there should be a place to discuss ads, since i'm all for open discussion. it doesn't have to take place in the sales thread itself; could be in a sub-forum or separate forum (like KS) or separate thread in the FS section.

That's not thread crapping. That's saving people too stupid for their own good. You cannot honestly suggest that riding through Pakistan is a safe thing for an American, can you???

It's threadcrapping when you keep making the same point over and over. Once is PSA. A half dozen times is acting like a prick.

in all fairness, i like to thank some of the more vocal voices that chimes in and give their input on some of the items for sale that are rather suspect and can protect our other members from getting burned or ripped off...

there are plenty of fair sellers but also a few that gives a bad name that i would never even accept a bandaid even if my fingers were severed ...

agreed - but I would like to think that if I had the opportunity to prevent a friend from getting overcharged/burned on a deal, I would take it. Most people on here are not random buyers, they are friends...

There is a place to overcharge and it's CList / ebay / not here.

Many sellers discount their stuff for sale here since many here are friends.

If its a blatent overprice say something respectfully and move on. Offer what you think is a fair price but be cordial about it.

And don't prey on people who don't know any better and then bitch when you get called out for trying to take advantage or make a quick Honey BooBoo Child Dolla$$

This is the MF'n BARF we should be looking out for each other not trying to dick each other over.

While I think that it's everyone's right to try and get whatever money they truly think their item is worth, I also think that the place for overblown pricing and screwing a buyer over is Craigslist, not BARF.

Screwing each other over destroys the sense of community that is BARF. If you're going to use BARF to sell things, sell them for a fair price.

I like this.:thumbup

Then threadcrapping would just be a term I had never heard of. :teeth

Personally I would never crap on someones for sale thread even if it is outrageous. I just don't give a fuck enough to do so. Those that go around, just looking to crap on high priced for sale threads are losers. I mean, get a life guys!

That being said. I'm always 100% for freedom, and free speech. For both the scammers trying to sell overpriced stuff, and assholes that feel they need to comment on sales that isn't any of their business, even when its borderline.

Information is always great. How else would we know who the scam artists and assholes are? Sometimes in person they are good at hiding it for a while.

Thanks to barf. Many here I would never deal with in person, or ever invite on a ride or social gathering. I wouldn't even share a beer with them. Fuck them. I'm grateful I found out what cunts they are online without dealing with them in person. :thumbup

"Oh, you are so and so?" *walks away* :nchantr

Goat snizz. What a warm, fuzzy picture comes to mind. Not that I'm judging you. Much.

But, threadcrapping. I sold that S4 a while back (you should have bought that bike Billy. It was a screaming deal).

It was. I just couldn't get the time to go down and get it :cry and I wanted a Duc right then!

Case-in-point for those advocating community service or thread crapping? :laughing

What's wrong with that one? There isn't really any way to "fairly price" a modded car, so you have to give the seller some slack. While many people frown on modded cars, there could be someone out there willing to pay extra for one that is modded in a way they like.

I'm not normally a fan of body kits, but that one looks decent, especially since the owner had the sense to not put a dumb wing on it.

A Stage 3 clutch does seem over-optimistic though :laughing

He's almost twice Blue Book for a car in top condition which, by KBB's own admission, only about 3% of cars fall into. Just like with motorcycles, you can't expect to get back the cost of modding.
