15th Abd behind Pirro, Hernandez, barbera, and Petrucci on ducats?

Not a good look redding

To be fair, its Marc VDS first time with a factory MotoGP bike with factory software. The technical bits are the same but its a blank slate in terms of set up and electronic tuning. They need more time to tune the bike and get the settings. Who knows how much Honda is even helping them with that in terms of set up data, we already know the factory electronics on Honda are incredibly advanced to set up.

Aleix is going to mask the faults of the Zook.

MM is at the bottom of the charts because he literally followed or towed his brother around for all of his laps. damn those kids turning a GP test session into a fun trackday. :mad... jealous.

Crutchlow's views on the RC213V:

Excerpt via Mathew Birt

The bike turns very well. You can brake deep into the corner and still make the turn. It is really impressive but you have to look for rear grip a lot more than other bikes I’ve used. But the engine is strong and the electronics work really well.

Choice quotes from Miller on his first outing on a GP bike:

Excerpt via Matthew Birt

I went out of the pits and in between turns one and two I was like ‘s**t’ that came up quickly. Everything comes up so fast and it is so hard to describe. It is out of this world how quick the bike accelerates and with no wheelie control you are coming out of a corner and burying the rear brake trying to keep the front down. Then you click fourth and it wheelies and the same in fifth and you are doing 300kph. It is mental.

also, with a resurgent rossi, miller coming up, maverick coming up, AM on the way, I think redding, pol, even aleix, these guys are going to get passed by. pol simply didnt do good enough this season to make me think he has "it".

seeing iannone fight with MM was great. Iannone has it, IMO, but he needs a beyer bike

So true. Iannone was one of the few guys that could actually take it to marquez on a regular basis to keep him honest. Pol did on occasion but not in the same way iannone did. Him and MAck are the only new/newish riders that can do it I think.

spec- Miller better get over that quick. I think hes gonna be a big bust and this year is going to do him in.

And re: Redding's first outing on the RC213V, apparently told Birty/MCN that the transition to the RC213V "was more difficult than he expected," citing his struggles in mid-corner and braking and that he'll need to understand the Ohlins and Brembo.

"so then scott, cal, and miller, they tell me they think they have a shot at repsol in a few years"

Does the Zook get the softer tire option like the Open Bikes? It was a joke that Ducati got that advantage all season.

^ yes. any new manufacturer entrant into the class gets the softer tires, extra fuel, and extra engines until they make it onto the box a set number of times in the dry. tires and fuel can be taken away mid-season. extra engines only go away the following year.

IMO, it wasnt a joke. it def helped Duc get higher up in QP... but thats about it. all the race win contenders made it past the Ducs after a few laps almost no matter what. Duc's best results actually came later in the year after they stopped racing the softer tire.

First day of post-season testing in the books and no one has called the 2015 champion, race winners or decided which rider are changing teams for 2016? You people are slipping.

miller did 71 laps without traction or wheelie control to get used to the power-he's never ridden anything bigger than a 250 in his life.yeah he sucks:laughing
