They arent. No one rides them without tc.

Miller and maverick rode with stuff turned down, as well as the engine very much detuned and the software map changed to alter power delivery. They were riding neutered versions of motogp bikes, and on mullets case, a nuetured version of a neutered motogp bike.

You can find quotes like this from just about every rider who makes the jump to motoGP kit. Redding said as much last year. I seem to recall M4M saying something similar. Difference here is he's skipping the intermediate ranks... but the quote itself is not indicative of any unusual mental fortitude deficiency. If fact it's expected.

The thing about miller is he is on a 3 year contract. 2015 means almost nothing other than getting his feet wet and satisfying the need for an Aussie while at it. That's the real reason he made the jump. Otherwise he would have followed the dane path of using the 2nd class as a learning year while being supported by the manufacturer, aka dani and mm path.

Expectations for rookie miller on a shitty Honda Proddy are low, And it's pretty much known
 
i dont expect Miller to score all that many points next year. maybe just over 10, maybe not. there are just too many better & more experienced riders on better equipment next year to take those 15 spots each race.

although aleix did say the gsxrr hadles super good, better than his previous bikes. zook never had an issue making a bike than handles, they were just always down on power and development. and he actually said the biggest issue was is was so small he didnt fit on it, they need to adjust the bike to fit his body. had trouble fitting his feet and head on it

There is a rather large difference between unrideable vs unraceable. Toned down electronics or not there isn't much difference these bikes because they pack so much power. We are probably talking along the lines of Gp bike with whole package vs wsbk no tc it's still a shit ton of power without tc.

^ i think u two are saying diff things. they are likely unrideable without TC solely because no team is going to let the bike exit pit lane without a mild amount of TC... not because a rider couldnt make it around track.

aside from that... "toned down" doesnt begin to describe how neutered a fly-by-wire bike can get. HRC could prob give u a throttle map that gives any rider an un-crashable amount HP for all lean angles. u whack open the throttle, but the computer goes "f* no" and only opens the butterflies a tiny amount cuz your knee is on the ground. w/ 3 prev days on track and knowing the asphalt, temp, specific corner, and everything else, the throttle could be idiot proof. id call it the "media demo" throttle map. itd still wheelie in 5th gear, but its unlikely that ud highside even with zero conventional-reacts-to-wheelspin traction control.

Who's six seconds off pace? He's faster than he was in the race.


Im not saying the gsxrr is a beast, but a good handling bike with low power is a better place to start than a powerful bike that doesn't handle
 
Also keep in mind that these engine putting out the power they do, without electronics to smooth them out, they would be extremely peaky in power output with very narrow power bands.
 
I'm in the middle of the full testing session viewing, and they just mentioned that aluminum-lithium alloy calipers are no longer allowed, only aluminum calipers allowed, for cost-savings. Just thought it interesting.
