im not really sure what to think about this. i dont want to discuss politics with some dipshit barrista that i dont know. i find this campaign somewhat overreaching and unneeded from a company that serves warm bean juice grown from the sweat and tears of farmers in a 3rd world country while 90% of the ceo's are lily white cracka asses.

what do you guys think? will this stop you from riding your ducatis to starbucks to pose in front? or do you think its a needed debate that has to be sparked somewhere?

it was enough to get you to post a thread about it on an internet motorcycle forum and me to respond to it. :dunno

Damn their site is piece of shit. I wasn't even been able to play a video after enabling hundreds of java scripts to run temporary.

i just thought it was a bit over-reaching. i mean, corporations should probably keep their politics to themselves, regardless of how well meaning they are. thats just my perspective

yeah i had to use another browser to get the video to work but it basically just reiterates what the article says

Just serve me the coffee. I'm only cool if the (female) barista draws a heart on my cup and I get the number on another visit. Yes it's happened.

I think that I have never been a Starbucks guy, have always supported small guy local cafes and this kind of nonsense is an excellent statement of support for my continued lack of support for corporate coffee chains.

Wow, never heard of this. I guess it's because I just use their wifi without buying anything. :laughing

Sounds stupid as hell. They probably just figure "any publicity is good publicity"

BTW I'd rather not have any magic marker ink on my cup.....That shit takes more than a few seconds to fully dry.

I don't go there much and certainly don't want to discuss something as complicated as "race" with a barista there. If they insist on it, I'm going to tell them that I don't leave tips for people who lecture me.

Hmmm, well apparently he has a point, considering your racist statement. I have been tired of racists of all colors, heritages, and countries for so many decades it makes my eyes water. I am also tired of talking about it, because most of the talk is just more bullshit. The President of the United States is White/Black. The largest group in California identifies themselves as latino, even though that isn't even close to any kind of "race". I would really, really would like the world to stop with the ignorance and just look at people the way that I do. You have to prove to me you are an asshole, before I discriminate against you. So don't prove it, and let the Jazz/Latin/Acid Rock & Roll. :teeth

Seems kinda odd. Who is this supposed to inspire me to talk to? The barista? Are they prepped on what to say?

But, can't find a good reason to be mad about it. I think it's legit to say we need to talk more about race.

Coffee profiling!!!

We need a bill!

White guilt???

Does that mean vanilla??

I miss the days when Starbucks was still a local thing. :p
