Starbucks now serving white guilt with their frapuchinos (Race together campaign)

Just serve me the coffee.

^^That. I don't like it when companies push agendas. Why introduce something that may hinder the transaction? Otherwise, we'll all have to hand over a card which states our beliefs and they hand over theirs, then we can determine if we're compatible. Ain't nobody got time for that shit.

its kind of ironic how they want us to talk about race relations but really the whole discussion is more about corporations taking moral stances on issues they have no business dealing with. but this was probably their intention since the majority of the corporate culture revels in any form of egotism. they should be writing on cups #corporationsarepeopletoo

That, and hey look, they're on the news and we're talking about them. Didn't cost a dime.

I am going to protest tomorrow AM.

White Chocolate mocha.
Carmel swirls with a shot of Chinese New Year.

Man. I am leaving so many people out.... -*stressing*-

phillz/blue bottle>shartbucks

I still have yet to try Philz.

Anyway, thinking back to when I slung coffee in college -- I don't see how this is gonna happen in practice. I'm too busy making mocha frappucinos and extra-hot nonfat chai tea lattes with whole milk foam, where in that do I have time to be all LET'S TALK ABOUT THE TUSKEGEE EXPERIMENT AND WHETHER IT'S ETHICAL FOR US TO USE THE RESULTS OF THEIR RESEARCH?

Schultzey should probably teach his baristas the meaning of niggardly in regards to people not tipping, lest someone use that word on a cheap skate!

starbucks doesn't give a shit about anything but making money, and they will do whatever they think it takes, and ride whatever tide comes along to do that. they have one of the most simplistic and lucrative business models ever imagined. how they have been able to paint themselves as anything other than a run-of-the-mill fast food joint that only serves beverages (and a few biscuits) is beyond me.

Great idea, I hope Chick-fil-a starts doing it too !

:laughing:laughing

I can imagine the writings:

"Ghey - biological, or choice?"

"Are you ready for the rapture?"

"Obama - false messiah?"

"What difference, at this point, does it make?" (maybe remove 'at this point' for brevity)

"Today's solar eclipse - sign of the end times?" (damn it, that one's too long as well)

Peets? One word: alloftheirdripcoffeetastesfrickingburnt :thumbdown

That said, they make better espresso drinks than *$.

Totally this. When I hit Peets it's to buy a latte ( most excellent, much better than $bux) and never to buy coffee. (Well they do have Tanzanian Peaberry a few times a year, but I get it cheaper elsewhere. )

And anyone who wants a good inexpensive coffee source has to try: http://www.castro-coffee.com/

I buy most of my coffee there. (Actually have it shipped)

Just feel really sorry for the people that work there. As if they have the time for this.
