I'd say the R1 definitely feels more special than the S1KRR. But based on other people's opinions only (haven't ridden one, don't know how I would for a few years until used ones start showing up), the throttle on the R1 is a bit much on the street.
My buddy (where I store the bike) loves himself some Kenny Roberts and is still trying to get a 50th R6, assuming anybody on Craigslist actually tells the truth and replies to his questions on what they're trying to sell.
The S1KRR is comically easy/smooth to ride. And having heated grips and cruise control, and full up/down blipping, exceedingly noob friendly and nice to be on.
Those 50th LE are getting harder to find for sure. The heated grips and cruise control would be soo nice to have, and I love how smooth people say the s1krr is from idle to redline.
Most days, used to do it in any weather (back in Italy I was leaving the bike home only in the snow). Now I got a bit spoilt by the Californian weather and I avoid the rain...
Riding from Berkeley to Livermore, if I can, on Redwood.
I actually look forward my daily commute!
Well, when in Rome

Redwood is your commute! Color me green
