Let's ride! Although I seem to say no more than yes lately... Still need to get the suspension reworked too. Its like riding a goddam pogo stick! ...which is a little sketchy on a 500 lb bike :)
 
Hi, I plan to explore the area this Sunday. Seems like this ride was supposed to be last weekend but in any case if anybody is interested I would love some company. It will be my first time to the area, I was planning to follow the directions in the thread to find my way around.

Will be riding an Adventure 990R (Baja). Let me know....

I can't make it but there are usually plenty of other folks around the Knoxville area if you need direction and some good roads to go exploring. I'd prolly pass on most of the single track stuff when solo on a 990. Some of it starts out tame and then gets challenging without much of an exit route. I'm just not a big fan of picking it up and turning it around on steep canyon single track by myself. But that's just me.

Hey Gilad, I rode it for the first time today solo on my 950 adventure. If I didn't have plans tomorrow I would join you. I used the MotoMap app to navigate on my iPhone, and the rever app to track me in the background. If you have the capacity of doing that, I think you can see my ride If we're "friends" on MotoMap. I also friend requested you on Facebook. I just posted my ride via the Rever app, so I think you can download it easily there too. I'm pretty new to riding the big bike off road and this was an easy ride except one very short stretch that can be easily avoided. You can see it on the Rever app tracks if you could manage to download those .

I downloaded all the apps but I don't think I can see the track yet. I tried out ridewithgps based on recommendation on this forum and think i will stick with it for tomorrow. Route is here.
 
Cool, I'll check out that app. I accepted your friend request on rever so maybe you can see that one now. Have fun, and let's see some pics! I had a video camera malfunction today, so no footage.

:rolleyes Never made it, family got in the way and I opted to take a short ride thru skyline down to half moon, which was actually not that fun. Too many people and a lot of shirtless a-holes riding superbikes.

Haha, I hate when that happens! Yup, sometimes a perfectly good motorcycle ride is ruined by motorcyclists! I avoid Alice's Restaurant and the rest of that "scene" like the plague!

Is anyone going to make it this Sunday, the 10th of July? I tried in June, but nobody showed up at the Starbucks.
 
My 690 is out of commission. I would consider bringing my FJ-09, but I might end up hanging out with the wifey instead. I'll loop back towards the end of the week.
 
I'm toying with the idea to ride it Sunday on the KLR or the XR4..
 
If I end up being free on Sunday, I might join up on my FJ. I have no bash protection, so I would have to take it pretty easy on the dirt road/jeep trail sections. Totally doable, though.
 
I can't make it this time. Mine's missing a few key components for the time being. Hopefully, it'll be amazing when I get it back from Konflickt.
