Based on your opinion and lack of explanation of why we're wrong and you're right I really don't think we're missing anything....nor do you even seem to care to. Also I don't use the ignore function I just stop engaging.

I also agree with you that comedy that punches down is lazy. Some of my former favorite comics, including Louis CK, Chappelle, and Bill Burr, have regrettably gone in this direction. And they've all thrown in a healthy dose of self pity as well. It's as weak and pathetic as it is lazy. Very disappointing.

But I just don't watch them anymore. If other people find that funny, well that's on them. It may show a lack of discrimination, or worse a weakness in their character, but no need to wag your finger at them for it.

That being said, I don't feel that Blazing Saddles was punching down. You have to frame it in a very specific way to see it like that.
