2003 Honda S2000 Advice

Maybe the OP should compare notes on your vin and make sure it's not the same car. :laughing

I really don't buy any of my vehicles with consideration of the resale value. I buy them to use them.

This would be my runaround and road trip economy car. Fun too. I am committed to buying it. Current owner has a bad flu or something. For weeks.

Soon it should be mine.

Still, anyone got any recommendations for a good honda gur to install the hardtop?

'fun' yeah, but you lost me at 'economy' lol.

all LS chebby engines are pushrod. the only OHC V8 from them that had any significant production was from the ZR1 in the 1990s the LT5 (a moniker chevy recycled recently)

And there’s also the new LT6. But just like the LT5 of 30+ years ago, all they really have in common with any of the pushrod small blocks is the 4.4” bore spacing.

AP2 is more desirable.

Unless you are going to track the car, I'd pass.

I have thought about a S2000 here and there over the years. I fit in them better than a Miata and I think they look way better than any Miata. Honestly I go back and forth whether I think the AP1 is more desirable or if it’s the AP2. Yes the AP2 has more mid range torque to make it feel less anemic driving around town or at a 7/10ths pace on a back road. But the AP1 has a 1000rpm higher redline.Just like a Porsche GT3, that land of 8-9000rpm is a pretty special place. An AP1 with an aftermarket intake sounds just mental when “it’s in the VTEC.” So much so, that it will get you kicked for noise at Laguna. Stock exhaust, just the intake noise alone.

This thread delivers ! !

A simple question turned into a rabbit hole turned into an entire rabbit warren. It's like the oil thread changed costumes between acts and is now back on stage.

Subscribed.

Sad pg 2 and we don't have gif of fast and furious

Vtec just kicked in yo

Small displacement, Light car, Honda…

Oh, I thought it would, will get good gas mileage. If you keep your foot out of it. And as a Honda, just change the oil for the next hundred thousand miles.

I could be wrong. I’ll take that gamble.

You know we need a pic, right?

I've been looking for them.
iPhone, iPad, iMac, text, message, photos? So many places to hide.

After a little less than five years I managed to bounce it off of a tree with the result shown below.
I bought this one for engine and spares. Still have bunch of parts somewhere in garage :)
They have tendency to spin without warning.

…..or a rusty ol' 40's/50's pickup, call her Tetanus ?

I have a friend who has a ‘49 Ford pickup that is finished in rust and gray primer. (Not for sale.) It appears stock but has the front suspension off a NASCAR car (he has connections), a NASCAR rear axle and suspension, and is powered by a new, modified Ford V-10. A true sleeper.

I found a couple

That thing is gorgeous. :thumbup

Why isn't it in your garage?

Oddly, that very nice red seems to be a rare color based on my S2000 sightings here over the years.

Oddly silver seems to most common.

The red looks much better.

When you do pick up the S2K, pay a visit to LHT Performance to see a nice little curated collection of parts. I definitely recommend the billet battery hold down clamp, as the OEM ones rot away.
