2014 VFR 800cc available in May!

So, still no word on, nor does anybody seem to know when the new (again) VFR will be available and I haven't seen any magazine articles on it either, including the European/British ones like Bike, Motorcycle Tour and Leisure and so on, so can only guess it hasn't hit the dealers there either?

I hear it gets better than 40 mpg..I see it as a 'red' alternative to an RT1100. Hydraulic lifters?

One could only wish. No. VTEC. To check clearances accurately you must remove camshafts first. Then check. Then replace camshafts. And this assumes no adjustments were necessary -- so big labor bill just for valve check, and even larger if a shim needs replacement.

Good news is many instances of guys who never check and have 100,000+ miles on the odometers without an issue...

Lots of various chatter on VFR forums regarding this issue since 2002.

I always think 'old boring accountant' when I see this bike...

but then again it's a Honda so it hits target demographic right on the nose.:twofinger

I'm always amazed when people call a VFR "boring" as if it was even possible to get bored on a V4? Yowza---exactly what goes on in people's brain is often a mystery lol!:wow

I've got 59,850 reasons why I won't be selling my 6th Gen VFR800 anytime soon.

The best bike I have ever had.

I REALLY like the bike and as a VFR veteran they don't need to really sell me on it...but that $12k price is off-putting. I'll likely wait a couple of years and peruse the used market.

I'll soon be in the market for a VFR but I just can't bring myself to buy an "new" bike.

It's not even the 12 grand. I just know I can get an awesome VFR that'll do the job for half that. :dunno.

It'll be my 4th Interceptor :teeth

I was in the city on Mother's Day and I saw a new red VFR parked on a street. I was really tempted to pull over and check it out. Apparently dealers are starting to get them in stock.

I've been considering making the move and getting one of these. I'll probably give it some time. Maybe pick up a low mile used one once they start selling on the secondary market.

I have looked at many bikes after getting my 02 as the grass always seems greener. The last to ride was the Ninja 1000. At the time I commuted almost 100miles a day. The buzz in the Ninja I could not handle. Now the updated one is suppose to have a taller 6th gear to calm down the buzz but it's still there from what I have read. I will admit the new bags look a lot nicer than the old ones for the Ninja.

The V4 VTEC is a fantastic motor. For you that are scared of the VTEC or the Valve Jobs listen up. My Honda Mech recommends to not even worry about the valve jobs until you start to notice a drop in power. My 02 didn't get the valves checked until 58k miles. At that time 2 were out of spec only. 58k miles. Most of you don't ever keep a bike that long so you have NOTHING to worry about. VTEC is not as harsh as you think and if you are buying a VFR to drag knee's on public streets and worry about the VTEC in mid corner then you purchased the wrong bike to begin with.

The VFR is an amazing bike for an all around bike. I have taken her on 1500 miles trips with no issues. I have had fun in the twisties and I have spent many a day in commute traffic in all riding conditions. She does not see the miles per year like she use too as I ride BART now, but when I ride her I still get that smile. I would have no problem jumping on her now and taking her across the country.

So for me, the new VFR looks fantastic and is on my radar as my next bike. I can't wait to see one on the show room floor.

Pffft, well when I get MY RVF400R (NC35) that'll be my 5th :twofinger

Ug, been shopping VTR's too. I need a two up bike. The VFR's the smarter choice.
