2018 Winter Olympics

Been watching skiing, bobsled and speed skating like a muthafuckka, don't know why you guys stuck on iceshuffleboard and ice prancing. Maybe you secretly like it and just want to bitch about it. :twofinger

Those have been on, but when I'm able to watch it's mostly skating.

Watched ice skating with the wife last night. It's amazing that on the olympic level so many of them fall down. I think like skateboarding, once you biff it your turn should be over.

What I found odd was a failed triple jump gets more points then a solid double jump.

Confusing!

There's nothing like winning a sport that doesn't have objective point scoring.

I have an intense love/hate relationship with figure skating and ice dancing. I love the beauty, artistry, and athleticism it takes to reach Olympic level competition and absolutely detest the subjectivity of it.

Yeah when it comes to sports that are judged, I put pretty much all my interest in the performance and a lot less in who won.

I did marching band all 4 years of high school. We were top of our class but I didn't get bothered as much if we got 3rd instead of 2nd. Some person just saw the performances a little differently.

Drives me crazy though when a fight doesn't end in KO or submission and the judges fuck up the decision.

The curling coverage is getting a little excessive... I haven't been watching as much as I usually do cuz winter Olympics > summer Olympics but it's on at work all the time. And bars and restaurants.

I caught a lot of the women's downhill last night at happy hour before I went to see a movie. All the downhill ski events are my favorite. Reminds me of the times I used to get to go to some really awesome resorts/mountains training with my brother's race team.

I can't believe that the network called it over for last nites "live" coverage of the women downhill with 9 more racers to go.
Then on to Vonn's farewell to racing interview.

I'll say it again, Someone's got an agenda, , ,

This is the crappiest Olympic coverage I've ever seen.

The thing that's been bugging my family is the switching of coverage to different channels. We've missed some of the competitors because we didn't get all the channels DVR'ed.

I set my dvr to record all new segments...at least half of what I get was entirely curling, I've spent quite a bit of time deleting the curling segments. I go back to the premise that I think that it's very cheap for them to film/produce the curling segments, they're going for maximum profit and probably have to produce a minimum # of minutes of finished product, so they do the cheapest one most.
