Winter Olympics = two weeks of Curling. Sweet!
Because I tried curling last year, I'm probably gonna watch more curling now.

a Canuck friend keeps wanting me to try curling. said it's the bowling of Canada. a social, drinking game. looks relatively fun. they have it at Fremont Ice

We were taught early that drinking before Bonspiels is like 50% of Curling anyway.

so I called Fremont Ice. there's a group thing for curling. but it's $71 per person, minimum 15 people. 2 hours with instruction. beers not included, nor allowed on the ice
still, sounds fun some time.
Drink beforehand. And honestly, $71 is not bad. I actually got into it by signing up for their public training program when there about 75 people out on the ice. It was chaotic at first until the wafflers quit and the people that were serious actually got to get in some real training. It was also a lot more expensive but it met weekly over an eight week period or something like that. I don't recall exactly as this was back in 2010.

$35. This is the same program I started with. Can't really beat $35 and you'll pretty much learn everything you need to know. Then you can start signing up for bonspiels put on by the SFBACC which is what I was doing back in the day too.
