I went, I figured you were out doing one of your races, that's why you missed Wednesday night. Jennifer on the yellow Ducati beat Doug in the finals. Doug had mechanical issues. I went out in the first round, ran a .26 on my .24 dial, but I was sleeping at the line and lost it on reaction time. There is supposed tobe one my race on Nov. 5th, but I won't be there for that one.

Yeah this month has been crazy with races will try and make the next one hopefully my name is still on the list to get in. I'll get that Light Bee down the 1/4 mile before the end of the year =P

Your name should be on the list. They had it at the front gate when you pay to get in. They also just added another date. October 29th!

2026 schedule is up.

Thinking we need to bring the Brightdrop.

Recap of 4-15-26:

Another windy and cool night at the strip. We had 12 bikes show up including Mr. Charly Blunt who came all the way down from Oroville Ca on his little 400rr ninja while his zx14r is down for repairs. Charly is a well known drag racer in northern ca not only for being very quick on his zx14 but for also being 89 years old! I tip my hat to him as he had that long ride home last night after the races.

As I mentioned, the nasty Sonoma head wind was in full form, so times were down and then there was a big oil down in the left lane close to the finish line that delayed practice runs. 2 time runs and then into elimination we went. I will mention we had a young lady on a Hayabusa racing for just the second or third time on her bike and a newcomer from Hayward on a BMW 1000r that did very well. I made it to the semi finals along with Brad Hawks on his old R1 and the Youngster Charly Blunt also made it to the Semi's. As luck would have it, as 12 second Honda car oiled down the track as we were getting close to the 10pm curfew and that ended the night for everyone.
Looking at the ladder, I had the bye the next round so that would have put me into the finals! Oh well, that's racing. Hope for better weather for the next event, May 27.

I got the win in a great final against Sean Baldo riding the stretched zx10. I ran a 9.28 on a 9.26 dial and Sean broke out running a 9.77 on a 9.79 dial. I had a .031 light to Seans .061. Next Wednesday night race is September 16. There will be a Bracket race at Sonoma on Monday the 7th.

Pics from 9-16-26 Sonoma Wednesday night drags. Good day to get a lot of test runs in with the "early" 4 pm start time. We made 4 test runs before eliminations started. We would have been able to get a 5th test run but a Mercedes had a conflict with a cement wall and that delayed things a bit. The wind was present pretty much the entire evening, so not any out of this world times to report.

I was having a rough time the first part of the night as I could not get my reaction times down in any of the qualifying runs. First round I am paired against none other than are very own Merlin on His Sur Ron. Merlin had been having some great reaction times in qualifying and was very consistent on his et's also. I figured I would be going home early tonight because I had been all over the place. As luck would have it, I managed to get a .043 reaction time and Merlin stumbled with a .113 reaction time. I ran a 9.355 on a 9.30 dial. Merlin ran a 16.164 on a 15.90 dial. I win by a .2990 margin. The next round I get a bye and head to the 3rd round. Next up is my old dragstrip adversary Doug Love on his new Triumph T120 Bonneville. Doug is a legend and we have had some good races over the years. I should have bought a lottery ticket after this race. I dial a 9.27 and run a 9.30 with a .013 reaction time! Doug dials 12.76 and runs a 12.77 with a .079 reaction time. I win by a margin of only .0462, the difference in the reaction times is how I won. What a race. Next, I am in the finals again Jesse Dolan on his overheating and battery draining Aprilia. Jesse had to rerun his race a round earlier due to technical difficulty with the timers, so his bike is running a little hot with such a short cool down period. He pushes his bike up to the burnout out box, jump starts it and then we are ready to race. The light go green and Jesse takes off, then a split second later, he spins bad and the race is over.

Next race is October 14 and that will be the next to last race of the year.
