2019 Honda Super Cub

Good decision buying the Super Cub

I paid full retail. My wife thinks it’s a hoot to ride. We have a ct110 we bought new in 1980. It still runs great, but the electric start and fuel injection on the cub will be a nice upgrade.

A few questions if you don't mind:

- I only learned about the 2019 Super Cub yesterday. I checked around the Net, apparently these are hard to find. Did you put your name on a waiting list and only just now got it? Or assuming you got in San Jose, does that dealership have them in stock?

- If you did pre-order this or were on a list, when did you do that? I read on the Net that people were getting themselves on waiting lists as far back as Sept. 2018. :wow

- Super Cub buyers I watched on YouTube said they too paid full retail for the bike (U.S. $3,600). Apparently these are in limited supply to where dealers are not negotiating sales price. Didn't hear about any dealers jacking up the price. Maybe Honda USA is forbidding dealers doing that.

Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

Thank you for the info. Last Sat. I put a deposit on one. Dealer softly predicted delivery by May. I have two other scooters so I can wait and :ride in the interim.

Mind saying where you got the seat. I'm all in converting my yet-to-be-received Super Cub from solo to dual seating. And that seat is exactly what I want.

Another "mod" I want to do is put wire wheels on the bike. I have seen the Asia Super Cubs have wire spokes instead of the mag wheel. I'm all in on that look.

I got the OEM rack from the dealer, the seat and pegs came from Webike.net

New Super Cub owner

Hello ! I've been on the hunt for a Super Cub for a few months now ! I finally just got it (well its being delivered Wednesday). I spoke to every dealership in the area and no luck. I then started to hear rumors that they may not bring any more into the states until next model year (unsure if true). So I found the dealership in santa barbra had 2 in stock ! Rode the burgman down Saturday and signed the paperwork. :D

Where did you get the windshield ?

Question, how fast?
I've got 60 miles total on my monkey, I got 49 on the speedo, still accelerating slight uphill into the wind before traffic slowed.
I know the transmissions are different, don't know if the gearing is the same, or the fuel system.
Big wheels faster?

speedy run

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TItfe4g6YT8&list=PLLXxDh3JumLlSXBOojmUDLUOQczU4F-sl&index=1 This guy goes about 60 top in flat. I have "a more generous figure" so I imagine my top speed will be less. My old Vino 125 would go ~50 (53 tucked in) but was known for being a bit sluggish, but was also a CVT + 10inch tires. You can buy different sprockets on webike, but im not sure of the stock ratio's or gearing. How do you like the monkey so far ?

I weigh more that the bike is rated @ 239# by 20#.
No way to tuck in. It gets throbby after 45 accelerating.
I'm not looking for more top end, just an idea on performance differences between two similar motors and the different chassis.
Smooth and stable, I very gently start the lean, and it turns slow, until the speed drops, then I can whip it around in one car parking space
All in, it feels like I'm sitting on a smallish upright kitchen chair, with a 5" wheel between the back legs. You don't feel the wheel unless the tire spins (dirt), or bottoms out.
Very little input to turn,
I need to spend the day somewhere I can carry speed thru turns, city riding won't do this. I don't think heading up to Tahoe, and around the lake would be a good place to break it in. Berryessa has always been my spot for this. Getting my head back into my beginnings, hammerin' 90's er 125's
Genoa, is my goal, but not much twisty.

Gotcha ! I weight ~250, Cub is rated for 240, not that anyone in other countries adheres to that. I just took delivery of mine, with 4 miles on it, it tops out about 50 with me + riding gear, may have had a little left in it but I should probably break it in before I torture it too much. I haven't shifted a bike in about 4 years and it feels quite odd without a clutch, but its very smooth and natural. weight loss = more power I guess haha.

You just need to be like superman!

ZioMarcus. Thank you for the pictures. The passenger foot peg holes on my 2019 Super Cub appear to have been welded closed. Did you drill and tap new holes to install yours? T

The blue bin is excellent and could only be improved upon by an actual milk crate!
