2020 F1 SEASON

I know why they hold the race at night, that stadium looks spectacular at night, not so much during the day. :laughing

Talk that Perez is going to Red Bull.

Congrats to McLaren for finishing third in the constructor's; that was not foreseen at the start of the year, for sure.

Ricciardo did a nice job for Renault in his last race with them.

Can McLaren challenge for second next year with Ricciardo?

There does seem to be a bunch of stories claiming that Perez will be signed by Red Bull. There is nothing that carries a ton of weight out there yet.

Personally, I'd prefer to see Hamilton go to Red Bull and Perez go to Mercedes. :laughing

Now THAT would make for a very interesting 2021!

It would also remove the 'but it's the car' argument about Hamilton being GOAT, assuming he won the World Championship while at Red Bull.

Ducati didn't work out for Rossi, however, had it panned out he would have cemented his position as GOAT.

And the Mer-shay-dees power unit next year, too.

Kvyat out, Yuki Tsunoda in at Alpha Tauri....

Haas's new Russian needs to learn the problem with social media is that it's, ummmm, social.

Did you catch the pointed note Vettel wrote on the helmet he gifted to LeClerc?

"Most talented" and "Don't waste it!", clearly aimed at Ferrari. :laughing

OK, now it’s official.
I think that Perez was the right choice.
Albon showed flashes but he also made errors and wasn't consistent.
It would have been sad for Perez to not be driving next year, he showed that he belonged.

It was inevitable, but it was interesting reading Horner's comments about part of the decision relating to how difficult the Red Bull is to drive at the limit and the desire to see how Perez handles it. Horner indicated that Verstappen is the only driver that has been able to tame it so far.

My guess is that Perez is still slower than Verstappen next season, but that he closes the gap by half as much versus what Albon was doing, particularly during the races. Perez just looks like a much better close quarters racer than Albon is at this point in his career.

I think the biggest surprise next season, if you could call it a surprise, is going to be that Vettel does not re-find his form and run competitively in the AstonMartin. It just seems that the racing drive has left him

Albon's driving style is quite different from Verstappen's. Huge outside passes all the time VS the braking duel, inside passes. I suspect the car doesn't work as well with Albon's higher corner speed needs...off the cuff.
