2025 F1 Season (spoilers will be discussed)

Alpine Team Principal Ollie Oakes resigned. He was not fired. Alpine claims it's because of personal reasons. Everyone else thinks it's because he's unhappy with what's happening in the team and getting blamed for a ton of stuff that occurred before him. That's like the 4th team principal in 3yrs and just one of many top-level staff. Flavio is taking over as Team Principal while also continuing is Executive Advisor role.

Franco only has a 5-race guarantee, even with all the Latina-American money he's bringing in. Jack got 6 races. The joke on the internet is that the next guy will get 4 races.

Flavio has fully taken over and mark my words, he will destroy the team.

Also, Flavio is Jack's manager. What a dick.

They did, kinda. Flavio was banned from attending events and any FIA license holder was banned from working with him. He took the ban to court and won in 2010.

Oh Yuki...

Hope that Colapinto kid does well....um....

Carlos Sainz has now out-qualified his Ferrari replacement Lewis Hamilton in the last four races.

Ferrari does not have a good car. IDK what they're doing wrong, but that car has dropped to at least #4.

I'm a fan of both drivers.

Ferrari seemed to be getting better last year, this year quite the opposite.

They're going to talk about that lunge into turn one for a long time. Wow.

New front wing on the Redbull seems to have been effective. McLaren didn't seem as dominant, they couldn't close the gap on Max at all.

It was interesting to see qualifying laps on a medium tire being faster than the soft.

Impressive drive by Hamilton thanks to a late safety car and Leclerc knocking Albon out of the way late.

Glad to see Sainz score some points.

Aston Martin looked good until they didn't.

It's super weird to see Ferrari do better in the race and get the strategy (mostly) right

It's cool to see Williams bridging the gap between Formula A and B. The incident with Charles was pretty lame for Albon, mostly because the damage was done with Hamilton getting by.

FYI, the passing/defending rules changed again for this year. The announcers finally made it obvious what the new rule is (because they aren't actually published & made publicly available). The defending car no longer has to leave room for the passer if their front wheel is at or in front of the passer's mirror. So IMO that makes Charles' defense legal and he didn't need to give the spot back. But we didn't get a ruling from the Stewards because Charles gave the spot back.

All good on the passing rules; they'll lead to more contact for sure and hopefully, more full course cautions...which will lead to more contact. FINALLY entertainment and real racing....

Maybe the updated passing rules will lead to fewer passing attempts because drivers are less likely to go for a gap if there's less chance that the other driver will leave room. F1 cars are fragile compared to other series and NOT crashing is even more important in the cost-cap era.

This rule could be really dumb at street circuits. The passer will have less (or no) time to bail because the defender can be slightly behind and not leave room. Maybe the stewards are expecting the driver's preservation instincts to overcome this one... which would lead to fewer passing attempts. Lame.

I heard that the drivers wanted this updated passing rule :dunno

It's a reasonable defense WRT to the DRS systems having an absolute advantage down the straights. That F! got this much "managed" for passes to happen would necessitate a reset on the "temporary advantage" rules.
