2025 Investment Thread

Yeah I don't mean reddit literally, like when the wife talks about some crazy person on facebook or in the comments section of some article, those get categorized as "youtube comments", meaning the moron masses. That's what I mean with the reddit investor, basically just some idiot. They're now the controlling force of the investor world. And today is a great example. No blue chip investor dumps their stock when gumflappers do gumflapping things even though nothing has actually happened. They would have already priced their investments to compensate for gumflapping and they'd stay the course until some actual piece of data caused them to think otherwise. That old school buffet brain is 0% of what moved tesla's stock today.

gumflappers :laughing

Dan Ives is a salesman. His win rate is barely over 50%... id dump it into SPY over him. But as long as SPY has TSLA in it I invest in other securities.

Currently sitting at +18% ytd on the account. @ me for more tips

What are some ways to invest completely outside of the usa?

Anyone interested in Fundamental Weighting indexes?

Fundamental Weighting:
Weight stocks based on fundamental metrics (e.g., earnings, revenue, or dividends) rather than market cap or equal weighting.

This balances exposure to company size and financial health.

TSLA soars based on "launch" of robotaxi in Austin. Buy the rumor, buy the news? Can someone explain to me how TSLA is able to do this safely, when Waymo has continued to use lidar?

I was in Austin recently and Waymos were everywhere.

Tesla is more than $300 per share overvalued due to pop culture hype. Gotta understand that scene in order to understand its "value".

Betting pool for when the first collision will be?

Caddy you'd be proud of me, I put some money into TSLA Jul 18 350 puts yesterday. Made a 1 day gain of about 13%, and dumped it at today's close.

There is so much volatility built into the put price, you can lose hundreds/thousands just from time decay in a single day. Also I was scared Elon fanboys will start revenge buying.

I'm confused how this would affect the stock price when we've known about his plans for several months. Are people really going "Oh gee, I forgot he was going to do that, I better buy a bunch of shares today"

That tsla value in particular isn't driven by buffet types, it's driven by the gme-to-the-moon types.

They are not. There's a reason Tesla's have been involved in a number of moto deaths while Waymo has not.

nobody went broke taking profits. My YTD is 29.47% according to fidelity. I dont check it constantly, but usually I wake up see where things are going (8 AM our time), and maybe make a few trades, then dont look back until 10 or noon.
