Truth, this is about the Volt...and how a crappy Chevy hippie machine actually has a car guy loving it. I'm not about pics, just about the bullshit that exists online. You said it best: you can't even use the power and performance of all the hot rod cars on a daily basis...but they do burn a shit ton of gas and lose a shit ton of value in a year. I don't know how the average person tolerates it...

That was my most garish outfit to date. Glad you did your research...helps when we run the hot laps! I'll be sure to plug in the night before...and bring one of the other cars to the track!

I think Horse just got himself in a bit deeper than he wanted to with a snarky, smart ass comment...as we've all done. Shit, if he called me outfit a dress, at least he looked me up! There are alot of cool cars on this site...and yeah, we *might* have a few of them Beau...

Horse, the only time I was able to use the CTS-V's capabilities was on my drives to the lake in the summer, where you could actually ring it out. Shame that all it did other than that was burn up highway miles at 20MPG...all my other hipo stuff, I just cruised around town and rarely took to the track, just to look good and be able to win stoplight wars. so I decided, I ain't doing that anymore...too many hot rods that I've done that with. I'd rather put miles on something I don't care too much about, get great mileage, and have my nice cars for when I want to drive them...not have to drive them.
 
I'm not taking sides here but AMG have the worst resale value and after 5 years, they fall apart. Maybe their quality is much better now. Mercedes is all name IMO.

I two year lease, so don't give a crap what happens to them later. I've beaten the crap out of my last two. They pretty much only see the dealer for tires and routine maintenance.

I floor mine every once and a while. Just to show off to girls or clients. Sometimes to put a vette or mustang in its place. Even to fuck with some motorcycles. Its fun, I'm no angel.

But these new cars are so quick you have to let off fast. The fastest cars from years ago are slow crap compared with what we have now. Progress is awesome.

Most of the car mags tested my car and it comes in a couple tenths quicker than yours in acceleration. I can go 10mph faster flat out. And it's a foregone conclusion based on the physics alone that my 3150lb Corvette would fucking embarrass your heavy German luxomissle on any track. So your AMG ain't quite every bit as fast as any 'Vette. If I got the one that costs as much as your car, the performance gap would be even greater.

You'd stand a better chance against my decade old Corvette. Which when I set to comfort mode, rides every bit as nice as any Airmatic DC equipped E-class I've ever been in. Has auto climate control, memory seats, dimming mirrors, pretty nice stereo, and a lot of the same luxury stuff. Ahhh, I can't take 5 people in style and class so maybe you got me there. But neither can you. Nobody riding the middle hump in a back seat of pretty much any car feels like they're riding with any kind of class.

Say what you will about GM products and how they fall apart. German cars off warranty are just expensive time bombs. So in 10 years the resale value on your AMG will be just as dogshit as mine.

Last post on this subject because you guys are annoying and I have a date.

I never said my car was the fastest. But its in the same ballpark. Tenth of seconds in most cases come down to the driver. You and echanter need to get a life if you worry about bench racing and tenths of seconds. On the street neither car can be pushed to its true potential. I two year lease so don't give a crap about 10 years from now. I go through at least 5 cars in that time. That is if I don't crash any of them. lol

I love that my car looks like a family sedan. My corvette was red. I called it pull me over red, because that is what cops did every time they heard me on the gas. My black family sedan blends right in and gets away with murder. Perfect sleeper. I've yet to get a ticket in it. Nearly lost my license with the Vette, even having a good lawyer.

I do very well for a living, thank you. I've never needed a car or money to get laid. But turning off traction control, putting it in performance mode and getting on the gas does get girls panties wet. The car sure doesn't hurt my chances.

Meh-I've had no end of performance and muscle cars, all of them fairly stupid impractical.

95 MPG sounds really nice right about now. New truck hovers around 10mpg, highway.

Also, why wear out my nice cars prematurely?
