AFM make up race weekend choices

btw: you still on the board, right? howsabout you answer this question that I posed on the AFM site on June 15th. funny. no answer. as expected. :laughing

"Hello, this question is to the AFM pres., Chris, or anyone else who can help.

Can any of you say how much the total cost for a weekend at Buttonwillow is? how much the AFM pays out of pocket? I don't need a detailed description, just yet, just looking for a total expense paid, for the year 2010, and the first round of 2011.

can you guys do that?

thanks. "

I know I know, collateral expenses.... :laughing is just a statement that allows the board to move off and not give a final number.

You guys know how much you spent for any one race weekend at BW. enough of the collateral expenses shit. That is easily solved by saying what the most expensive weekend, say at Buttonwillow is, followed by the least expensive one (reference to collateral expenses) :)

can you use some goddam common sense to answer that question? :D

thanks buddy. :)

and dude, I did talk about ideas. mostly for me, I latched on to the racing in the rain. (pick your battles for slow change, right?). I've posted my ideas in several threads. and seeing as how my questions don't get answered on the AFM forum, regular racers feel like we're just pissing in the wind when it comes to the board.

my ideas, :
-Take existing rules/ideas from other clubs that RACE IN THE RAIN, and implement. (some of them don't even have a blurb, they use common sense :shocker)
-No rain racing at Infineon, no doubt.
-Final call on standing water and no visibility from Race Director.
-Make it possible for us to race on a wet track.
-Rain tires, I'll buy a set, no worries.
-the Tire Vendors don't have a problem providing tires. (only ones saying so are the riders, not the vendors, proven when Dunlop asked if they should bring rain tires just in case to the last THill round) It is possible. :)
-Make rain races "NO POINTS" for the first 2-3 years of inception. It may never happen, but if it does, no crybabies lose points because they don't want to race in the rain. :laughing

I'm not the one, as well as with others on here, that are stalling the process, or not coming up with ideas. ;) just saying.

I am at least until the next meeting...

You said "Hello, this question is to the AFM pres., Chris, or anyone else who can help."
I am not the Pres, Chris, nor could I have helped you with the answers to those questions. Therefore, a lack of response on my part is as good as its was going to get for you, from me personally.
I do know those costs now, but I am not going to tell you, especially over the internet. Why? because its confidential information to the workings of the club and its contractual relationships.
I do agree that some info should be available, but I am not the "one" who gets to decide what that is, nor the format of its presentation.

next, eliminate the sarcastic overtones and maybe someone will take you seriously.

if you want your ideas to go before the BoD, present them, directly, to the BoD. Spouting off on Barf doesnt count.

There are people, by the way, actively contributing ideas via observed channels and have been doing so for a few weeks.

agreed on the need for process, but personally disagree on the time line.
This will be on the next BoD meeting agenda. It'd be nice to see some shiny happy faces there to give input and discuss!

:laughing no worries man, pretty much the responses I was expecting. figured you'd have thicker skin, but if you took offense, here's the obligatory, no insult meant. ;) as no insult was meant.

I was just trying to compare fees to the 990 forms. you know, to get a better idea of the workings on. ;) cheers.

last thing I would want is to get you in trouble for spouting off "confidential" information. thanks though. :)

And what fun that will be! Totally up for working with the timeline or any other issues...that was just how I saw the problem and brainstorming a solution.
