another roadblock conviction overturned

make sure you have the heated seats on when you let one slip to make sure the smell is extra nasty

Eldritch...

My BIGGEST fear ever lol. Hope it doesn't happen :)

No Mercy? Oh hell lmao.... What are you Mad Max?

Nazi references? Jesus bro been outside the U.S. much? We've got it good. Former Soviet block still isn't fun, Former Czech Repbulic.....Should I continue?

I think you're making a mountain out of a mole hill.

But Hey I'll side with the guys wearing the U.S. Flag every day of the week. Let's hope for the good of society that we don't end up on opposite sides. :)

I'm no bad ass, but it's my "Opinion" that your outlook is a little extreme. :)

I think it's funny that you can't even read the post and understand "civil unrest and revolution". In either case, the first target is and will always be the police,. Of course everyone is going to comply right now and in the foreseeable future, because the control over the population, both through force and willingness, is still in effect. Why can't you just read and understand what my post said instead of projecting your ignorance on it? BTW: I won't be on either side, I'll be long fucking gone. So you can ease down on your post apocalyptic pipe dream heroics, Mr. Rambo.

And what will you do when supporters of The Constitution sew U.S. Flags onto their clothing? :rofl

Will you choose to "side with" those that actually support The Constitution, or will you be a willing lackey for those who are paid to enforce (patently questionable) interpretations of it?

If you read your history there have been plenty of Supreme Court rulings that have been overruled and/or overturned in retrospect. Remember, slavery was once "constitutional," as were limits to the franchise based on land ownership, race, gender, et cetera...

(My bet is that, like a lot of Americans, you will side with whomever will give you the best WalMart-style access to discount pricing. But that's just my humble opinion... GIVE ME McDONALDS OR GIVE ME DEATH!)

Oh I think you've got me all wrong big guy.

The only ammo I "stockpile" is the one mag of hydroshock I keep in my safe :p

And.......

Unless you consider the Leave it to Beaver "Dyotopic" or "Apocolyptic" then.... I think you have me confused with someone else. I've seen enough to have a pretty good idea of what other Nation's look like and real references to the parrallels you're trying to draw to our society. It's my opinion that you're views are a little extreme, frankly they frighten me.

I currently can carry concealed for some time now..... Yet I have NEVER needed to within the Continental United States. I'm no hero just some guy; I don't need to. BUT I do have a cell phone that dials 911 for the Cats that are charged with the responsibility of doing something if needed :)

I DO know that people with extreme views scare me. Theres alot of threats to this Nation. A revolution with our own people would just open us up to further civilian casualties.

Rambo? Not this guy (The shirt is cool though my daughter bought it for me. :) From Ranger Up because I always tell her it's nonsense and not gonna happen :p).

Exactly. You people know there's always an "out" available, right?
In theory (and by law), yes.

In practice, not always. Sure, you don't have to drive through the roadblock, but if you peel off you then find a cruiser on your tail...

I'm picking up what you're putting down here lol. :laughing, But I think you understood my point. I'm NOT a big fan of an internal revolution. I believe the discontent and angst from either side of the Vocal minority could probably solved with some serious contemplation of the issues.

Also as you're well aware I'm sure we are currently in one of the most dangerous times our Nation has faced, extremists from all sides want our internal destruction. I think we just all need to close ranks agree to disagree and find a solution for our problems in a peaceful manner.

Really I just want to go to my girls softball games and watch the boob tube at this point. I've done my bit :p

I "THINK" both sides believe they are supporting the Constitution of the United States. However I support our Goverment and it's laws.

I'll support my Goverment, the Office of the President of the United States (Regardless of who is in office) because I "KNOW" things could be much worse.

Again I just wanna be normal :)

I agree, however I don't have enough information is most cases to have a good understanding of all the facilitating issues surrounding those decisions. As a matter of fact most Presidential Candidates don't know untill they're in office....

Sooooo..... I leave my elected officials to do what they do best. Make the best decision for the people at the time given the information they have.

Because "I" don't know, what "I" don't know.

I "DO" know however that I've seen enough ridiculous speculation on world events (From people who dont have data), to NOT trust the average citizens judgement as often it's not objective and emotionally charged...

See girls softball.

THATS FUNNY! (Really being genuine here, it really is a comedic quip)

My bet is I'll continue to vote and let the Elected indviduals and people charged with the Authority and Jursidiction to make those decisions make them...

Truth is; I'm tooooootalllly ready to be Fat, Dumb, Happy and be Mr. Smith. If I never touched a weapon in my life again I'd be pretty content. I'm done being Angst filled and upset about what people think they know and/or pretend to know.

I'm totally okay with debate and learning from others though. Listening to and considering others perspective (Mostly because I know that I'm not an Island of my own. Everybody brings something to the table in this great nation.)

In short I'm willing to hear your perspective as long as you're willing to hear mine or at least answer questions for my own clarification. :)

Peace, love, happiness all that jazz bro. :cool

I'm just lucky that the ones i have come across could be seen long ways off.

I can see where you guys are coming from with all of this police state business but I....I just don't care that much.

There's a difference between stopping, saying "hello" and "no" and then going on your way and "drinking the kool-aid". People like to be super-dramatic.

You want to battle travesty? Look at laws trying to pass before they are. It's easier to block it their than to overturn it. And if you must, make an organized public movement about it. Dicking about at single checkpoints, holding up lines and aggro-ing officers makes up for a tiny dick but it really ain't doing much for the cause as a whole.

But why don't people do more than that?
They just don't care that much.

Are you required to give it to them at check points or will you be told to not pass go & go directly to jail.
Well the guys in Escondido got convicted of obstructing when the driver didn't provide his license. Licenses are pretty much required at California roadblocks from what I've seen. The U.S. Supreme Court suggested suspicionless seizures were acceptable for checking licenses.

Nevada law says roadblocks can't be used to obtain I.D. and there you have Sgt. Farmer of the NHP demanding my I.D. (see Tahoe vid). Washoe Co. sheriff canceled an announced "license checkpoint" after some people brought it to their attention that was illegal.

Can't do it in Nevada. And three times I got stopped in SF, there was no way to opt-out.

Yeah, it's also been my experience with almost all of them that by the time you see them, there are no legal exits. The checkpoint by my house is always careful to make the line go super slow so that the 5 or 6 cruisers standing by stay quite busy chasing the people who bail out of line illegally.

It's actually kinda funny, one car will bail, then get chased. Then another, then another, then when the last police cruiser is gone chasing someone, at least half the line bails. :laughing

Checkpoints were not legalized by any legislature, so there was no such opportunity to block them at that point.

Also, significant components of our law and culture are the direct result of case law. Look at Brown v Board of Education; black folks in the south in the 1960s didn't have a lot of success talking to their legislators.

Case law may not always be a comfortable way to establish new rights (or take them away), but you can't deny that it's a hugely important and influential legal avenue for change.
