What kind of headphones would you be using?

some ear buds that came with my first gen iPod.

Meze 99 Classics
mono price m1060c

None of them have a very high impendence rating i think max 55ohms

I don't think I need a lot of amplification i just wanted something that looks nice, with a DAC, and isn't a hunk of shit

I'll jump in for advice re: headphones and amps. I have some old Bowers and Wilkins wired on-ear headphones, P7 I think. I just bought a pair of HiFiMan HE-400i over-ear cans, which are inexpensive but have some good reviews. I'm not interested in spending $800.00 on headphones and $1,000.00 on an amp.

For the 400i cans, what might be a good amp in the $200.00 to $400.00 range? Would this be throwing good money after bad with the headphones I have?

Solid state amp with a tube buffer. Looks neat and had gotten pretty good reviews and my Cans sound awesome thought it. Very happy with the purchase.

I went through a bit of a headache getting a good DAC and AMP setup for my PS5 because Sony cant be bothered to support UAC2. Ended up with a a JDS labs DAC+ and AMP and had to change the firmware and use a UBS1.1 dongle thing. Such a PITA but now my PS5 has a fancy pants audio stack.
